Hi! The program is WinZip, but I didn't use it to open/process the target file in any way when I attempted to
download and side-load the file. I only used WinZip to display the contents of the *.zip file I was given, which is shown in the orignal post.
I used the right mouse button click to bring-up the context menu on top of your original link to the Android package, and then told the browser to save the target to my hard drive. For other *.bar files, those came over as they should have, with the '*.bar' extension, using this same method.
I have a quick follow-up to my last post:
I reloaded your posting using a different browser this time (FireFox) and tried downloading the files again.
This time, things worked as expected. I was able to get the packages in *.bar format, and they've been
side-loaded to my PlayBook without any problems at all!!
I appreciate your willingness to help me address this! Have a great week!!
You don't download apps from the Android website, either from your Window based PC, or your BlackBerry PlayBook.
Once you gain an understanding of the basic know how to side load a .BAR file to the BlackBerry PlayBook, then you will know that you need DDPB Installer or BBH-Tool as mentioned in this article, and .bar file(s) which is required to side load to the PlayBook.
Here is an article, that ice wrote up, The Top 10 Android Apps To Sideload On To Your BlackBerry PlayBook which has a few popular .bar files which you download to your desktop PC, then use one of those tools to side load it, and enjoy your newly installed application on the BlackBerry PlayBook.
i have followed all steps..installed DDPB installer, plus JRE for Windows 32 cos ma system is 32 bit windows 7, my playbook connects well, gets recognised, problem is when i browse for the .bar files i downloaded, they do not show up @ all.. any ideas?
move your .bar files to a file on the desktop. Then browse again.
I keep getting an error saying Incorrect Ip or Password when I try to connect through DDPB, even though I have the correct info... any ideas?
