Yeah. I guess in the end I was unhappy with it basically because of apps. First, the MASSIVE lack of apps in Appworld annoyed the hell out of me. Android apps?....having to beg, borrow and steal an Android version and then having to connect the damn thing to my computer so that the app can be sideloaded only to find out that the app doesn't work properly for whatever reason......bahhhhh....no thanks. While I like to play around with this stuff, it shouldn't be that much work ALL of the time. I got an iPad 2 instead.

As much as I hate to say it. You brought up some valid points.

Yeah, you know what? I tried to make myself like it. I loved the size of it, but that was about it. I got it right after Christmas and to be honest, was a little let down - especially about the lack of apps. But I thought, I'll give it a chance. I'll wait and see what 2.0 brings. Then, when 2.0 came out, I still wasn't "wow'd". At the end of the day, when i sat down and took everything into consideration, it just wasn't the right device for me. I travel a lot too and like many who travel, I use Skype to video chat with my wife. I know I don't have to explain how frustrating that topic is when it comes to the PlayBook. No Skype is pretty much a deal breaker.

I've had iPads, and to be honest, I don't need that many apps, and I love the multitasking more on the PB. Browser on PB is better because of flash support. And most of the time I just use the browser anyway, or bridge to my BB. So the PB is perfect for me.

I understand your pain points on apps though. That will be fixed by the time BB 10 roles around. See you back soon!

I missed that as well......for about a couple of days anyway until I got used to the iOS way of doing it. Instead of gestures I just gotta hit the home button twice and then choose the app that I want to switch to.

The browser was a HUGE complaint for me. I can't tell you the number of times the browser on my PB would just up and dump out on me. Once it would start doing it, it would do it 4,5, or 6 times until I would finally just reboot the device. And flash.......meh. There is only 1 website that I can think of that I browse on a regular basis that I have to seek out a PC so that I can view the page.

As the saying goes, "never say never", but the PB is going to have to grow by leaps and bounds to get me back. Side by side bone stock right out of the box, the only edge the iPad has over the PB - albeit a pretty big edge. But once a jailbreak is applied to the iPad the PB is lapped in in no time.

These are all just my opinions and are by no means meant as bashing the PB.

I too feel that the Playbook is perfect for me. With the built in Flash I don't need an app because I can access the site directly on the browser. Now sometimes there are browser compatability issues where the site requires a certain add-on. For example, DishOnline.com requires a Widevine media addon to watch movies online and the add-on in not available for PB browser.

Not sure, but I think that the DingleBerry project has been abandoned or put on hold for awhile.

    4.0 Dingleberry project re-launched

Any plans of the 4.0 Dingleberry project being re launched? The playbook has reached its end of days, what’s the harm in allowing a custom os. This way it could allow playbooks to be given a second life. Does anyone known of a google groups looking to rebuild the source code? XDA has talks of Cyanogenmod however due to the limited interest the development was halted. Testers and coders are needed as the hardware specs to cost ratio are heavily in favor of the consumer the only downside is BB os. Looking to repurpose the playbook.
