It was only a matter of time before RIM would find out about the
rooting of the PlayBook. In an email to BBOS RIM responded with the following statement regarding the recent jailbreak:
RIM is aware of reports that a security researcher has released a tool designed toallow BlackBerry PlayBook users to jailbreak their tablet. RIM is following itsstandard security response process to investigate the functionality and impact ofthis tool and if needed, RIM will develop, test, and release a software update thatis designed to minimize the potential adverse impact to our customers.
Now its only a matter of time before RIM releases a patch to close up the exploit found by
@xpvqs . I suspect we see it within the next couple of days. Let the games begin!
