    New Game: Pencils!

I've just released my first blackberry app: BlackBerry World – Pencils! (http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...tent/20397612/)

    It's a simple pick a stick game.

I do acknowledge, that functionality is not its strongest side. So, could you please take a look at the app? Any improvements needed? Any new functionality? I' wanted it to be as simple, as possible, as I personally like to just jump into the game right after I start the app, but I don't know, if it was a good idea, after all. So, all reviews, ideas, thoughts, feedbacks are really welcome.

Nice graphics. Maybe use a clock for timing. Noticed it was written in marmalade. How much does it cost to start in marmalade?

Thank for your feedback. I'll implement it pretty soon.

As for the costs, what do you mean by a "cost to start in marmalade"? Time it took me to develop the app in Marmalade? Or the price of the Marmalade itself?

How much would it cost me to start using Marmalade? I have been using native because it is free. Air seems expensive.

Well, you can grasp the idea of marmalade pricing in here:
    Purchase Marmalade SDK | Marmalade
But you'll need the test devices as well, along with developer licenses for the platforms, that requrie those (ios and android).

Basically, if your ultimate goal is to reduce the costs, I'd recommend using cocos 2d - x, as it's a cross-platform framework and works pretty well across platforms. You could jsut buy the developer licenses for each platform and than jsut compile your cocos 2d x code with slight modifications.

Actually, marmalade is a great tool, but their prices bite. I mean, they really do. And it doesn't support more recent features of C++, which definitely sucks in my opinion.

Yikes, I think I will stick to playbook native and wait for Cascades to support playbook better. Can't beat free.

Well, if you don't plan on going multiplatform, NDK is a great choice. I needed to learn Marmalade anyway, as my company is planning on going multipllatform. And I can assure yo, that the price is quite good cosnidering, that porting to differernt platforms is a breeze and takes a fraction of a time it usually takes. E.g. I created this pencils game, whiel trying to take a firm grip of a Marmalade, after I decided to go crossplatfom for BB10, it took only around 3 hours for testing and fitting the new resolution. iOs port, which I test right was also a breeze and took around 6 hours on testing and several more hours on graphics.
