Thread: I've just bought a Blackberry Playbook - Help needed with an Android App ....

Hey Everyone

I've recently purchased a Blackberry Playbook 64GB & so far I'm quite impressed. I got it for £129 from Currys & to be honest for the price it's an absolute bargain.

Anyway I have downloaded a few apps from the AppWorld but my only complaint with the device so far is the lack of apps available to download. I have since added some apps onto my device from goodereader.com and DDPBInstaller and they are working fine.

There is an app however that I would love to add to my device but nobody seems to have converted it from .apk to .bar file and I was wondering if somebody could help me.

It's called "BirdTrack", it's a free app located on the google play store - I can't link as I don't have enough posts it is saying.

How would I go about downloading the .apk file and then what software do I need to convert it to a .bar file?

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated

This type of app I don't see being an issue to work on the PlayBook. However, I was not able to to find the apk file so I could convert it for you. Here is the .bar but i had no joy with it. bto.org.monitoring.birdtrack_12.bar

Yea, just tried installing the app on the BlackBerry 10 dev alpha with no luck. Icon is there, but app will not open as it force closes. The best thing you can do is to tell the creators of the app about the easy porting developer tools that BlackBerry has to offer which will easily convert their app to work fine on the PlayBook and BlackBerry 10.
