Thread: List Of Working PlayBook BAR Files

Hello Everyone, There have recently been many requests on where to find converted Android apps. There are many places to find them out there, but few have actually tested them. So we have decided to create a thread that will list working .bar files. If you are coming here expecting a paid version of an app you will not find any here. All of these apps are free.

If you see a paid app that has been posted here by accident please notify us and it will be removed immediately. We are not trying to provide a hub for pirated apps. If you find a broken link please report it.

Post which app you would like to see in our list, either Joe, ice or myself will test, and post above in our working list of BAR files.

As ice has mentioned above, some applications that are ported from Android (APK file) to the BlackBerry PlayBook (BAR file) may not work, but we'll test it out regardless.

My workaround:

If you see that screen, download and save the file via BlackBerry PlayBook, then move the file to your computer's desktop, use the side loader tool to install the BAR file.

Now you have a working application.

Love to have Opera mini on my playbook. Not sure how to side load yet, or if Opera would work on it, but REALLY want that.. I have it on my Galaxy phone and I love it..

I have personally tested out Opera on my BlackBerry PlayBook tonight, and unfortunately, it doesn't work.

Remember this is an Android app, some apps will work, and some won't.

I will be updating our list of working PlayBook BAR files tonight.

Great site! Just bought the Playbook recently and loving it, especially side-loading Android apps! Though I also have an iPad 1 too for certain things. One of the things I like to have on the Playbook is Dolphin Browser HD. It was ON AppWorld while I was testing out the Playbook at Bestbuy in Canada, but unfortunately it's now taken off AppWorld for some unknown reason. Can one of you guys convert this into Playbook friendly?

Congrats on your BlackBerry PlayBook purchase, there is a ton of native and Android apps available now since the PlayBook OS2.0 update.

Dolphin Browser HD has Passed for the BlackBerry PlayBook.

I have updated the list now, Dolphin Browser HD is now in the list of working BAR files.

I have decided to share some screen shots with everyone.

It will be a little easier if you could post the next apps by date. And I mean by the date you post them on the list.
