The Top 10 Android Apps To Sideload On To Your BlackBerry PlayBook

Now that the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is out and we can successfully run Android apps on the PlayBook, it's time for a top ten list of the best Android apps for the PlayBook. All of these apps in the list can be easily sideloaded, and have been tested for basic functionality.

    #1 Words With Friends

Whether you like it or not this little word game has taken the masses by storm. This popular FaceBook game created by Zynga, has taken over almost everyone's mobile device. Its a scrabble type game that is played at your own pace against a friend or random opponent.

After the application was successfully sideloaded it ran smooth on its first run, and within no time at all was ready for the challenge. Pinch and zoom work within the app to enlarge or shrink the playing board. One issue that I noticed was that when using blank tiles the app sometime has a hard time adding the new letter. Overall this app works really well.
    #2 Pandora Radio

The Pandora internet radio app may be one of the best internet radio apps out there now. Although you can utilize Pandora right from the native browser its nice to have a little app to run in the background. The apps interface is clean, basic and had no problems loading on to the PlayBook. Sound quality is good as well.
    #3 Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle allows you to read books on your PlayBook. You can purchase books or browse thousands of the free ebooks. This app works great I was able to view my library no problem download books, and even purchase if I wanted to. Reading within the app rivals that of the kobo app. This is a must for any avid reader. Overall this app works really well.
    #4 eBay

The eBay app works really well, and I was surprised on how many functions actually worked. You can easily browse for items and manage your own account. Item description and pictures also work really well this ones pretty polished up.
    #5 Shazam

Now this app is really nice if you just can't remember the name of that tune. We have all been there wondering about that tune, and we simple cant get our finger on it. Now I was a bit skeptical on this app as I was not sure how the mic integration with the Android App player would work. However, there was no issues at all with the app recognizing the song. I played a song and after a short while the app told me what song it was. Overall I like this app and it seems to work just fine.
    #6 Gallery 3D

Yes there are already many photo viewers out there but, this one is fun and is basically the native Android picture viewer. You can view pictures in some pretty cool ways. Experiment with this one and see what you can do.
    #7 Dropbox

The Dropbox client may be the nicest cloud storage app out there right now. It is so easy to share your files and store your information online. I noticed that this app opens most of the files from within the Android Player. So when you download or export your media it uses many of the Android default applications to open the media content. I noticed that it also gave you the option to open using the PlayBooks native applications as well. Overall this app works really well.
    #8 Google Maps

Google maps is a great tool for navigating almost anywhere, and works surprisingly well on the PlayBook. Although the app works well GPS is a little slow, and the Navigation extension is still in beta. Overall the app does work pretty well, and has most of the working features you would expect.
    #9 IMDB Movies & TV

If you'er a movie buff than this is the app for you. Browsing movies and previews was a breeze using this app. Everything seemed to work just fine. I could even watch the trailers right from the app. This app has almost all of the functionality that you would have when using the full website. Overall this app worked really well and smooth.
    #10 Winamp

Winamp is a seasoned media player that has been around forever. It allows you to listen to SHOUTcast radio and listen to your music collection. The app does run well and all of the features that I tested worked. Winamp is a great media player.
As more Android apps make it to the market sidelaoding will slowly fade away. Until then enjoy all of the new apps out there.

I installed WinAmp and fell in instant love with my BlackBerry PlayBook all over again.

The sound quality output to my headphones is outstanding.

I also installed Dropbox, and Shazam is next ! Thank you ice for the share.
