With so many people waking up this morning and receiving a BlackBerry PlayBook as a holiday gift, I figured I'd let you guys know what my personal favorite PlayBook apps and games are. We encourage everyone to check out App World's Top Free, Paid and Newest Apps list as well as these always change with brand new apps. So here we go...
Poynt - (Free) One of my favorite apps on my BlackBerry smartphone also makes a splash on the PlayBook. The fluid interface on this app makes one of the easiest and most convenient search apps across any platform, let alone BlackBerry. Whether you are looking for movie tickets, restaurants, gas prices, yellow/white pages or events, this app will Poynt you in the right direction.
ScoreMobile - (Free) If you are a sports fan, ScoreMobile is the best and way to keep up with your favorite team and/or players regardless of the sport. You can tell the guys behind ScoreMobile have maximized screen space
Blaq - ($1.99) Hands down the best Twitter client on the BlackBerry PlayBook. Yes, it's not free but for two bucks you are getting an extremely solid app that will allow you to use Twitter on your PlayBook the way it's meant to be used.
Vevo - (Free) The Vevo app allows you to access artists Vevo YouTube pages in a seamless and quick way. It's a lot quicker than using the YouTube app or actually going on Youtube.com. The streaming is actually always pretty solid and this app lets you put together playlists which helps make the video watching experience even better.
Scrapbook - (Free) It pretty much does exactly what the name implies. It's a beautifully designed app that lets you import your own pictures and use some cool graphics to put together some cool looking collages.
InstaPhoto - ($2.99) This awesome photo editing app lets you add a ton of different effects to either a new picture or one that's already in your gallery. You can then share the photo with the InstaPhoto community via Twitter and save it onto your device.
Angry Birds HD - ($4.99) The top selling game in App World only hours after it was released, it's no surprise Angry Birds is on this list. We have been waiting for such a long time to get Rovio to release an Angry Birds version for a BlackBerry device and last week we got three (Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Seasons). The smoothness of the game and the HD graphics makes all three of these games must-buys. Even with the price tag of $5 Angry Birds on the PlayBook will continue to see tremendous success.
Let's Golf 2 HD - ($6.99) Let's Golf 2 has been extremely popular on iOS devices and Gameloft decided to bring the fun to us as well. The price might be too steep for some, but if you do pony up the cash, Let's Golf 2 will certainly not disappoint. The graphics are unbelievable and after a couple of minutes of playing you will realize the game features so many maps and games, you may be playing for a lot longer.
Madden 12 HD - (On Sale $3.99) I'll admit I jumped like a little girl when I saw Madden 12 was in App World the first time. As a huge Madden fan, having it on my PlayBook was one of the coolest things that could happen. Featuring all 32 NFL teams, Madden brings a easy controls and realistic play calling ability to all football fans.
Slacker Radio - (Free) Until BBM Music comes to the PlayBook, (hint, hint RIM) Slacker Radio will be my favorite music streaming app. It's extremely fluid, fast and has an awesome interface that's very easy to use.
