Blue Box - Drop Box for BlackBerry Playbook

BlueBox, the first DropBox app is now available for the BlackBerry Playbook in the BlackBerry App World. This version, 1.0.1 allows you to access your DropBox account, creat folders, copy, cut, and rename folders. BlueBox promises future verisons will add uploading and downloading directly from the Playbook. Early adopters of this app were able to get it for free. BlueBox is now going for the very reasonable price of $1.99. To get your copy head to the BlackBerry App World.

Nice, this will come in handy. Anyone know what the data limit is on the free dropbox account?

If you sign up with this link: http://db.tt/ddrERIt, we both get 250MB free on top of the 2GB you get when you sign up.

    Oops lol.
Your post made it sound like you didn't have one

But anyways, the limit is 2GB, which is a lot, because uploading 2GB to Dropbox would take a very long time.

I've always only uploaded small files. What is the upload speed limit?

Ahh... That I don't know. There might not be a limit, and while my upload speed is pretty fast, it takes around 30s to upload a 30KB zip file. Though, it might be because it's establishing a connection, so after 20s it would start to upload, I guess. I can try it and let you know, if you want.

Never mind lol. My upload speed is almost constant at 80KB/s, which isn't bad. It's going to take 9mins to upload a 40MB zip file. Could be better, but not bad.

I'm sure the paid accounts have a faster upload.

Course. That's almost always the case, but Dropbox is nice because you can get up to 10GB free

what the hack is this ??

looks like this is a very old app from 2011 and was taken OFF the BB world regarding a lot complains regarding odd API behaviour and non functional...
still i think it was a nice attempted from the developer... but don't bother download this...

    Anyway !!!
managed to install the BlueBox app, through the link above... even so the app can not be found in BlackBerry world neither the web interface nor with the BB world app that coming with the Playbook.

well well, ok, managed to get it to run anyway, (it's version 1.2.6.0 (420Kb) that will be installed... but... what is this... and thats very odd with the BlueBoax app...
(got a Dropbox account already right) using it with the "Play Cloud" app very successfully.

ones starting the app it obviously asking to lockin, typing my existing username and password in to the box (same as I use with PlayCloud), hit the login button and get this ERROR message, saying in that box:

    Login error
This app uses an old version of the
Dropbox API and cannot accept new
    users.

I'm not a new user and just want to lockin, don,t need a to go and..
    Need Dropbox account?

Bluebox want me to sign up for a new account, don't want two...

going that way anyway. hacking in my existing lockon details, same name, password and so on... well
    it appears another box:

    Welcome to Dropbox!
Your account is ready to use
    you can now log in.

    well... what the F***k !!!

hitting OK again brings me back to the 1st lockin screen... hitting lockin again as user...

get the same old 1st ERROR screen up again....

Is this a lockin password garbing app or what ??

    PS:
well if some one asking him self how to get this app on to a Playbook without it can find the BlueBox app in BB world...
now, just open the above ling in your web browser, grab your PlayBook, with its QR scanner and scan the QR image on the PC screen... and off you go your PlayBook will open the right link in it's internal BB world app and let you install the app in question...

This workaround worked pretty well with other aps I had trouble to find either on the online BB world or the internal BB world app.
There are talks about that the Playbook has problems to find the apps in the BB world...
