@firemare,
Select your start tab then find your run command. Select the run command then use devmgmt.msc in the window and press enter.
It's just a shortcut to windows device manager properties.

I would agree with the hardware issue except for 2 things...myself and several friends who also have 9530's have also had issues with shutting down unexpectedly and not charging, and it always happened when we were playing with the phones when trying to get something to work. Other than those times we have not had these issues.
Secondly, firemare has said that everything is recognized on her husband's computer even without DM as it would be expected to. Her problem has to be lying in the laptop and with the drivers. Something is not compatible here, whether it be the laptop OS and the BB OS, or the drivers are completely corrupted for the BB and need to be replaced entirely.
Never claimed to be anything other than a techno-tard! :)
OK- got there- I have 8 choices under USB controllers:
USB Root Hub (x4)
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host controller (x2)
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller (x2)
Uninstall all of them?
Just uninstall any one you choose.
It should auto restore to all the hubs.
Good luck.

Done. Still same error. Got: Unknown Device Installed, Software for this device successfully installed.
Still got Unknown device on the laptop and The charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery.
I got one more trick....You game?
Of course. I really need to back this thing up- it's been a while... Plus, I am starting to run out of charging options!
I will need you to PM me with your email address so I can send you a zip.
After I send you the email with this zip, you will download the file BB storage Activation new.rar. It will be a zip so after the download is complete extract the files.
There will be three files in the extraction. One of these files will be a .bat extension.
So from this point connect your device to your PC via sync cable then double click the .bat file and a DOS cmd window will pop up. Press any key when prompted to then wait for your device to completely reboot.
So as your device is rebooting your PC should recognize the device once your splash screen boots on the BB. If it does not simply unplug then plug the BB in again and see if the PC recognizes your device.
Sound like a plan to you?
email sent via pm...
I got it....
Sent my zip file as an attachment.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck :fing02:
Well, it does not seem inclined to open. However, Windstream can be a PITA, so I am sending you another addy...
Sent you the zip from another email account of mine as well....
Stand By...
I double clicked the .bat file, the cmd box popped up, I hit a key as requested and got:
c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox>GOTO START
c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox>hahanew -u usbms -s
'hahanew' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file
Did I miss something somewhere?
Try it again.
I'll be back in a bit. I have a dentist appointment to get to.
I shouldn't be long.

Disregard- it currently says Connecting to Bootrom:
eta: and that's where it's staying. please let me know when you are available again...
Have you extracted all the files to a folder on your PC? I would recommend to extract it to e.g. c:\temp then open the run/command...go to the temp folder (cd temp) and run the .bat file from there...
I extracted them to my desktop (that way I knew I could find them). Then I double clicked on the .bat file- as per the instructions here (and the readme file included with the file). It brought up the cmd window, but continues to just say
Connecting to Bootrom:
Hm, same here...regardless of what or where I try this fix... maybe it is better we'll wait for Michael...
You have your BB device connected to the PC correct while this DOS window is running?
