Is there a way to tell whether or not it has the option for 64bit without installing it?
I was under the impression that both versions were on the disc when you purchased it. With that being a promotional disc, I don't know what they would do.
will someone educate me? what's the difference and can you run either on any computer?
One key difference between 32 bit and 64 bit is that you do not have a memory limitation. If your PC has 4GB of memory and you are using a 32 bit operating system, windows can only recognize and use 3.2GB of that memory. 64 bit operating systems do not have that memory limitation.
The motherboard in my particular system supports upto 8GB of memory which is what I have installed and taking advantage of.
Your system bios needs to be able to support 64 bit operating systems to take advantage of this.
Hope this helps.
Does this help Sunkast?
Looks like they are both on the same disk, that's what it sounds like at least.
Found this at their site...Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade - Buy and download from Microsoft Store
It says this on every one of their products:
This product includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
