I use BlackBerry Desktop Software on two PC's to connect to my Tour. On each of them I have had problems with Sonic Update Manager suddenly wanting to do an install and being unable to find UM.MSI

If I kill it using the Cancel buttons it starts right up again. If I kill it with Windows Task Manager it starts right up again.

If I try to uninstall the BB s/w completely, that fails because another install is in process.

I have used startup managers and registry cleaners to try to find how the install is being triggered and have failed.

The file does not seem to be on the blackBerry User Tools CDROM that came with the phone.

I have wasted hours trying to track this beast down.

I like the Sonic Media Manager in BB D S/w 5, but would gladly do without it if that would help get rid of the mess.

Any hints?
