Thread: Sync w/ Outlook 2010? Workaround?

So, I've been using Outlook 2010 Beta for a couple of months, and have not been able to sync my phone. Drives me CRAZY, but at least I'm still backing up with BBSAK.
Anyone know anything about this? Any way to manually sync with my backed up files? Any plug-ins or updates?

The only way I got it to work was to install Outlook 2007 first, then setup sync thru DM and once it worked, reinstall Outlook 2010 over 2007. You don't have to activate 2007 as you typically have 30 days before you need to activate it.

Ugh!:bigeyes2: So, you uninstalled 2010 --> installed 2007--> reinstalled 2010 over 2007.
Are there any conflicts with the 2? I have 2007, so that's not a problem. After the 1st sync w/ 2007 only installed, once I reinstall 2010, will I be able to sync regularly? Will it update in my 2010? Or do I need to export/import all the data?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I get it right!

It has been a while since I did this but as far as I can recall, I backed up my PST file, uninstalled 2010, installed 2007, synced thru DM, installed 2010 over 2007 (it will probably uninstall 2007 first).

Your original PST file was 'upgraded' when you installed 2010 from 2007. I ran 2007 for a while after having used 2010 and when I ran 2007, I got a message saying something like the PST file was created with a newer version, but it still worked. I have been running this way now since I got my new laptop back in December. I sync at least a couple of times a day and haven't had any issues.

I don't believe it will delete your PST files during this operation but I would suggest you back up just in case.

Let me know if you further clarification.
