Thread: Cant find my .alx backup folder

Ok so I am at a loss here with freaking windows 7. How do you search for system folders and files so I can find my backup from DM? And dont mention BBSAK becuase twice now I have lost all my apps because that program failed

So lets push this further, BBSAK will only create a .alx file no .cod so i can not restore the apps with out the .cod, I cant backup my apps, I really dont want to hae to dump my cods for the entire OS. If I search for the backup by doing it through DM I can not get windows 7 to find my backup folder. Does anyone know the file path that DM saves the backup temporarly when you are doing a device switch?

It saves it in your Documents. I've got Windows 7 also.

Thats the .ipd backup for contacts... the one I am looking for saves to you profile under appdata. TM helped me find it

I could have swore that, that is where everything from my backup saved (not just the .ipd). Oh well - worth a shot to try and help out :P

It opens up your /temp folder.

Yep. And that's where you'll find the folder named with your PIN number that DM created.

another easy way to find it thanks sun... cant believe they did away with advanced search in win7 unless you have pro.. grrr lmao.. thanks to all for your help.

Works great for when you've got to do a deep search for something and don't want to rely on any sort of indexed search.
