    windows 7 mail clients

Ok. So I got my win 7 upgrade and noticed it said that windows mail is no longer included but that I could download a 3rd party mail app or one from windows. I am wondering if anyone can tell MW what are some of the good ones and well advantages of different ones. I have always used outlook. Any help would he great.

    depends

unfortunately Outlook Express is gone - what they now offer is
Windows Live Essentials - which contains Windows Live Mail

WLE also contains much more apps such as messenger, writer, movie maker and a few more. If you want to dl only Live Mail, it should be here: Live Mail

Many prefer of course thunderbird and if you like firefox as browser, I could imagine that it will be your no 1 choice
    Thunderbird

Quick question is either compatible with the calendar on microsoft outlook? Or have a similar set up? I still haven't had time to mess with them much.

actually I am still an outlook user

Thunderbird afaik has no native calendar, but there are addons delivering these functions.

Live Mail looks quite familiar, a calendar function is in there as it is with outlook.

Yea but the calendar in live is pointless I haven't been able to invite or add invited appointments which is a must for me. Unless I have missed something I also can't sync it with google calendar so this could be a problem.

Jep, that would have been my next question - if you had calendar function before you must have used the full outlook, so why not use it on win7 again.

Here's an article on how to migrate your old settings to win7 if you are coming from xp
Windows 7 Upgrade and Migration Guide
Basically it should be using the migsetup.exe from your WIN7 DVD

Ohh sweet. I am actually coming from vista, but at work I use the full outlook and have an office 2007 disk and key with outlook with it so that would be my best because I can sync that calendar with google and then back to work and my phone and to my wifes phone

I cant even use the invite and accept invitations... this stinks and i cant spend the money on outlook right now, I thought I found a way using sunbird, and lightning but then I found that mozilla 3.0 is not compatible with a damn thing.... Have you considered using Gmail as your email client? You can set it up to fetch and send mail from many different accounts, plus it has good Google Calendar support, data portability, and decent blackberry support.
