Thread: Can I use a Verizon phone with Straight Talk?

I just switched to Straight Talk and so far I love the service and I am glad that I switched. My only issue is my phone. They are supposed to be coming out with a new phone but noone has any idea when this is supposed to happen. So I was wondering if a Verizon phone would work on their service since Verizon is CDMA as well. Does anyone know if this is possible?

More than likely it won't but all you can do is try to have it activated and see if it will work. CDMA carriers are very restrictive about the devices on their network

Straight Talk service is available exclusively with Straight Talk handsets and no others.

You may want to check out some of the new phones, though, including the Samsung R451C with qwerty keyboard, here.

I have that phone, I am waiting for the new touch screen phone to come out. Any idea when that will be? The samsung is ok but I am used to using a smart phone...
