    UMA with Bell

Has anybody been able to use UMA, ability to call with wifi, with Bell? A Bell representative told me the option is not yet offered, but that there is a way to do it,searching the Internet. After many hours I still haven't found that way. I have a new Torch 9810 OS 7.1.205.

    Welcome to par_pa

As far as I know, Bell Canada does not have support for UMA calling.

There is no amount of OS versions, Engineering Screen mods, Service Books, etc. that will get you UMA whether your phone model is capable or not.

A smartphone must be a UMA capable model, UMA capable model issued by the carrier supporting UMA technology (Rogers or Fido) and signed up for a UMA access plan with a UMA capable carrier (Rogers/Fido).

    Hope this helps par_pa

    Thank you.

Thanks grimreaper for your welcome and answer. That is quite comprehensive, and I agree. I was mistaken by the Bell representative. He also told me that Bell has no date for UMA service. Too bad, because their network and service are good.
