Thread: Official OS: 7.0.0.585 For Bold 9900, Torch 9810, And 9860 From Vodafone DE

Official OS 7.0.0.585 has reached the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9810, and 9860 from Vondafone DE. We recently saw the leaked OS 7.0.0.585 come out for the 9900 a few days ago so it makes sense that we were due an official release. If you have any of these devices, get out that USB cord and give your device a fresh OS. Don't forget to drop a comment below and let us know how it's working out for you!

Just installed .585 Did 2 battery pulls after reloading apps and data. Get the famous javalang error, but everything is working fine so far.

This could also be a app conflict as well.

I get no java error and on the install there was 2 vendor files with the one I installed. My main problem is the battery life on the 9860. Seems like the something is draining the battery, thinking the radio file. But I really don't want to install .540 radio file into the .585, but who knows I may just do it.. Hope Rim will fix the issue or hurry up with a 7.1 for us small minute 9860 lovers...

I have installed this on my Torch 9810, one of the most stable builds I've seen....its a keeper for sure.

Not a bad OS. Wish RIM would somehow fix the intermittent freezing though...

How often does it freeze up on you?

It could freeze up to 5 times a day for anything between 2 and 10 seconds at a time.

You have a ton of apps installed? Getting rid of the ones you don't use may help free up some memory and help your device. Also, it could be a app that is messing up the device as well. Have you tried to install another OS to see if it goes away?

I'm getting a lot of reboots on 585, sometimes as much as 5 per day. Also having reception issues. I can only 590 when I am back at work in Jan. Also getting "sim not authorised" often.

Can you explain to me how you installed 7.0.0.585 on your BlackBerry Bold 9900, whether you completely wiped the device, or you just upgraded via BlackBerry App Loader?

As for the message, "SIM not authorized" , means a locked BlackBerry phone.

When you insert a SIM card other than your original carrier, it isn't able to search for the wireless network without the unique unlock code.

Try to un-install whatever applications you do not use, which saves you a fair amount of phone memory, and frees up that memory for the phone to run smoother.
Let us know of any changes, I am interested to hear back from you.

On a personal note, this official OS7.0.0.585 release is one of the best builds I've seen on my BlackBerry Torch 9810, and on my friend's BlackBerry Bold 9900.

Hi Grimreaper.

I actually still have the leaked .585 on, not sure if there is a diff? I downgraded from 7.1.0.74 so did I security wipe and installed. I re-downloaded and installed the only two app I use, Accuweather and BatteryPlus. Worked fine for a weeo when the problems started. The Lsim not autorised" is a very strange one. It is a Vodacom phone and Vodacom sim, it happens sometime when the phone goes to SOS and then can't locate signal. I turn it off and back on and it starts working again. I've just about had it with the 9900, its the third one now.

Sorry the error is "Sim not allowed".

To my understanding OS7.0.0.585 with 7.1 hybrid leak will cause the phone to act very bad from what i have seen so far.

Can I suggest you return to Official OS7.0.0.590 or OS7.0.0.585 Official only?

OS7.0.0.540 with 7.1 is a better hybrid OS for the your BlackBerry Bold 9900 if you really want 7.1

Also, your SIM issues will be gone once you return to Official OS

I am using 7.1 for bold9900 for some time now and every now and then it freezes for few seconds.
I would love to go back to Official OS7.0.0.590.
Please help on how to do so step by step.

I have ever tried downgrading my bb9900 by wiping clean with bbsak and it was nuked!
I had no choice back then but to visit offical bb store to restore my bb life

Please help.

All you have to do after you backed it up, is completely wipe it, using BBSAK, and then use App Loader (DM) to re-install OS 7.0.0.590 to your BlackBerry Bold 9900

Is there any other way of downgrading the os apart from wiping ? I'm so afraid that after wiping I'm back to square zero . And yes, I was charged for visiting those guys..

I tell you this from personal experience, you have to completely wipe your BlackBerry Bold 9900, make sure the vendor.xml file has been deleted (I'm sure this was mentioned in that link I supplied you), re-load OS7.0.0.590 to the device, follow the prompts, sit back, and let it install properly without any interruption, such as pulling the USB cable out from the device while upgrading or downgrading OS (that would guarantee nuked device).

If you truly feel uncomfortable of reloading this OS back to your device, may I suggest finding either a close family member, or friend, who is knowledgeable with upgrading or downgrading the device's operating system?

I hope this will help you understand the process isn't really all that hard, but then again, you have options now
