Thread: Best blue tooth headset...

I just got the Motorola HX1 and i must say it kicks a**. I tried the first 2 Jawbones and they were crappy for the price. People could hear me pretty clearly with the JB2 but i could not hear them at all in a semi noisy environment. I hated not being able to turn up the volume as its automatic. I was tempted to try the Prime but i did not want to spend another 130 bucks and be disappointed again.
So i went with the HX1 and am glad i did. It has dedicated buttons for all the functions which makes it much easier to use. Not having to memorize a bunch of different push combinations is great. And being able to charge it with a micro usb means being able to just carry one charger that will work on my Storm and my BT (connecting the JB is a pain). Plus you don't have to worry about making sure the JB is always pressed against your cheek (if its not it doesnt work for sh*t).

As an FYI the Prime no longer requires that the little white nub be pressed against your face. I tried out the Motorola and it was good for sure but the Prime is the best BT out IMO

Still using my Plantronics BT device but am also now using the Jabra BT530. The BT530 is great headset as well. Good quality sound and has audio streaming.

Tried a BlueAnt Q1. Sound quality is awful IMO.

for me the best one is the BlackBerry HS500 BEEN USING FOR ABOUT 15 DAYS AND I LOVE IT...

Any good reports on Blue Ant V1?

I have the V1 and like it. But not everyone seems to.

I wish Aliph had better QC practices. I have had 4 JB2's to try out due to warranty excanges (long story) and got a Prime for Christmas. Took the first Prime back because it sounded like I was talking thru a towel! The exchange unit is clearly better but still not as clear/intelligible as the JB2 I still have. Using the voicemail feature of my work phone, I have run multiple tests because I'm picky and get tired of the wifey saying I sound like I'm in a barrel. Knowing and using DSP in my work, there's usually ONE setting that will be correct and a jillian others that sound crappy. With the JB2 I have that has the clear good sound quality, I was expecting the Prime to follow suit only to be disappointed. I do like the updated earbud not requiring the wire loop! And the VAS not having to be in contact for it to work is another nice feature. Next trip to the vzw store I'm probably going to return it. With my luck, I'll get another one worse than the 1st and then some long looks on a 4th visit to return.

Wow I have had no trouble with my prime at all. Sorry to hear that you are. I can understand being picky.. have you looked at the plantronics 855 voyager BT?

I'm the same way. I have 10 of those things laying around because I can never find one I like. I had the Prime for about a day...hated it. Call sounds were distorted, etc. BUT that was on my "other device that shall not be named" which had terrible call quality to begin with.

WOW i would get that prime swapped for a new one... mine is like butter in your ear.

Using the Sennheiser VMX 100 here. This damn thing is fantastic!! Reduces background noise, fits like a glove, and looks great when your wearing it. I actually have to turn the volume down on this one while I'm driving.

After using blue tooth since it's inception, this is by far the best I have ever come across. Price is great as well, but shop around. I got mine off of ebay for 50, but to buy they can range from 39 to 260, depending on the store.

I'm on the fence between the VMX 100 and the Plantronics Voyager Pro. They look pretty similar but I gotta say the VMX being about $40 cheaper is a big draw. Anybody seen anything hot new and similar in price to the VMX 100?

The best bluetooth out there in my opinion is the new Jabra Stone...

It is sick... I am thinking about writing a review on this BT. Keep an EYE on the main page.

I read up on the Jabra Stone and it does look cool... Hard for me to think about parting with $100 for a bluetooth headset of any make/model when none of them have replacement batteries and of the 2 ear pieces I have had in the past, neither survived much more than 18-24 months before it wouldn't hold a charge worth a damn. If I can get something just as good for $40 it's that much less irritating when I have to junk it because the battery is toast.

Also it is right ear only. Lefties like me are SOL.

Good call... I don't really care which ear I wear it in. it's nice to be able to switch around sometimes. Both my BlueAnt and my Sony Erickson models could be flipped around.

Still on the hunt, still undecided.
