I have a BB Bold 9700 , live in Australia , with Telstra ...I have send my BB for loading a "NEW" OS ...but came back with (after THREE weeks) with V 5.0.0.770 (Bundle 1302 , Platform 5.10.168).....
Which does MEANs anything to me ...????
My question is this the right OS ..????? and can I get Skype on it ?????

Hello Yves,

Version 5.0.0.770 may be the highest release OS that your carrier has officially released for your device. Which is why if you try and update through your carrier you will not be able to update to OS 6 unless they officially announce it. However, since you have a 9700 you can update to OS6 if you manually update the OS yourself. If you are not familiar with doing this I suggest you read over the directions carefully.

As for Skype, no you can't get Skype on your BlackBerry. Only Verizon Wireless subscribers can get Skype on their device as they have a deal together.
