Thread: Official: OS 6.0.0.448 for Curve 9300 & Bold 9700 from Wind Mobile

Wind Mobile has officially released OS 6.0.0.448 for the BlackBerry Curve 9300 & Bold 9700. According to a leaked internal document,

Starting from February 11, 2011, WIND customers using BlackBerry 9300 (Curve) and BlackBerry 9700 (Bold) smartphones will be able to enjoy new BlackBerry 6 operating system (OS). New OS for BlackBerry 9100 (Pearl) will be available in coming weeks

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Yes, but you must first delete the vendor xml. after installing the OS to your computer. This is so your device does not recognize the OS as coming from the cellphone comapany, WIND Mobile. Then you will install the OS from Desktop Manager.

Let us know how it works for you if you decide to install.

Update: This download is only via connection to Desktop Manager for WIND Mobile users only. We will keep you posted when this OS becomes available for download to your computer.

I'm getting absofreakinglutly P'ed off!
Every single time I want to use an official update, by deleting the vendor file, it won't update!
Every time it tells me, when I want to install, that it can't be done because some files and / or features are missing.
I deleted all other OS6 files on my laptop, downloaded the Vodafone one, deleted the vendor file but noooooooooooooo way Coockiemonster is not getting it done. What the furr am I doing wrong?

Don't know why you are having issues unless when you delete the vendor xml. there are other files gettting deleted as well. Skim through our upgrade tutorial to see if anything in there will help you along... http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...es-videos.html

scroll to the bottom of that folder and you will see it. it's called vendor.xml just right click and delete.

then install it to your phone

Is what I got from Neo when I asked about removing the vendor file.
And Im prtty furry sure I only delete the vendor.xml fil (wich is way at the bottom)

Hhmmm, I guess it did work after all...
I just looked at the version and I have the 6.0.0.448 (package 1879) wich is the Three UK one.
What the furr did that error mean??? Just thought my browser looked different so I checked, word after all

Usually they are identical.

yes, identical...the difference is that they add the vendor files. The OS stays the same.

Most people update from OS 5 to OS 6 mainly because of how much nicer the browser is with OS 6. So if you like to use your phone's browser than you have a good reason to update.
