I had the leaked one on my 9700 but this one wont work. I removed the vendor file but it tells me that it cant upload due to a wireless sync thingy....
Now Im wondering where the official non operator version is? I don't have a locked phone like alot of us.
What's keeping RIM from releasing the official update seeing they have the operator software and its just one with netword related adjustments. So the cora software is out there.
Show us the real deal, please! We know it's out there....:aargh4:

I imagine we will see the leaked OS .450, that was leaked for the Torch recently, for the 9700, before we see an official update again for the 9700 that is higher than OS. 448.

What I don't get is why not release the normal, non vendor, OS?
It's like buying a car and the dealer telling you you can ol=nly get the pimped one instead of the family one. Not being able to get the "base model" but you can get the edited version.
They have it, simple... How else can they make a vendor one if they don't have the original?
I just don't get why we have leaks for a version, then the same one but for the vendor, but never the regular OS for non branded devices...
Jospeh, go get us some awnsers :P

I can give you my best guess. The reason I can see is regulation and accountability. Big carrier companies like Verizon, Orange, AT&T, ect, need to put a approval on a official OS for their users. The vendor xml. file is like their stamp of approval in a OS. Most people don't know that by simply deleting that file they can cross carriers and us their OS.

Ah, so it's already there but the operators give it there OK by giving it the vendor file?
So if all operators OK it, why not release it to the general public oh wise Blackberry Jedi Joseph? :hail::hail::hail:
