Official OS 6 Release for Bold 9700
OS 6.0 is finally available for Bold 9700 users. OS 22.214.171.1240 from Vodafone Essar Limited gets the first official OS release for the 9700. Hopefully, we will soon see more carriers rolling it out as well.
For those that have already installed leaked versions of OS 126.96.36.1998/424, is it worth it to abandon those for the official 380? If you downgrade to the official OS 6 release, let us know what you think in our forums. Here are the download specifics:

I am just going to accept that this is never coming out for the 9630, leaked or otherwise. Please share the details
could you please advice if its the same of leaked software that we have already download before ?
No this build is different to the earlier leeked version, and is very stable link selection is fixed however there seems to be some browser issues (cannot configure) the trackpad keeps freezing and not working until a battery pull or two (very frustrating) is anyone else having this issue ? wondering if my trackpads broke lol. Memory booster is telling me its recovered 1gb in 24 hours
424 very stable and seems to do all I want
This was my first go at upgrading to an unofficial leak so here are my 2 cents:
1) upgrade very easy no hiccups or problems and quite quick
2) no big battery drops and all my apps already loaded work fine
3) cursors seem to be present when needed
4) browser seems fast and responsive
5) memory booster only picks up a few MB like it did in version 5
1) Copy and paste of a app registration number didn't work (so I typed it in manually)
2) Wifi with Browser some reluctance not to use carrier data but after a battery pull it's fine.
? is this really the first "official" release just getting a last beta test?
@simmybear : yes indeed .424 is a very stable build so far...but there is still some slight memory drop if u use 3rd party apps...well there will be a next OS coming soon...so keep your eyes out
about the copy paste...almost all OS 6 can't do that..
so far my 9800 and 9300 can't do that thing also.. :P
Okay, so was running .424, but have now downloaded the official release to asia mobile for Bold 9700, and deleted the xml file as instructed.
Following the loader instructions (desktop update not available), OS6 188.8.131.520 has installed successfully. Seems smoother than .424, social apps running first time (if checked in app loader), and so far so good! Keep y'all posted, just have to address my low memory problem next!!

So far i've tried all the OS6 leaks up to .424 and each newer version seems more stable and quicker than the last on my handset, most of the bugs seem to have been fixed except one major one that has persisted in all the versions. I have a lot of stored sms on my phone and i noticed that if i scroll down to older messages like 30 messages down or so all the ones received before that point show up as incomplete drafts and don't open, and unless i send an sms to one of such I can't view the content. I'm a little reluctant to try the official release since the version number is lower than the last leaked one but if anyone can verify if the sms issue has been fixed i'd be glad to downgrade/upgrade to the official.
The official release still has the cursor bug. I've only tried it for a day and returned back to .424
My chat clients don't seem to work. "uncaught exception: java.lang.nullpointerException"
Does anyone know why this is occuring?
Up to this point I'v had OS6 for about 5-6days. It is in my opinion the most stable release for the 9700. As far as errors, I got one error which said "UNKNOWN ERROR" don't know why it came up .. i pressed Ok and it disappeared. that happen once so far. The only other bug/issue I can see which only happen once or twice. When your listening to a song say you wanna go to more songs of the artist of the currently playing song (say for example lil wayne) I'd press Lil Wayne on Now Playing Screen and it would take me to another random artist, I would press back then press Lil Wayne again and it then took me to all my Lil Wayne albums .. but this only happen when I did a universal search for a song I wanted to listen to.
I think i'm gonna stick with this OS for a while. I haven't had ANY problems other then what I pointed out, BBM works great and SMS (both have curser and is working fine when I scroll. Guess i'm one of the lucky ones lol .... For now).
I'm only running a few apps:
Rate Your Day
And 4-5 other small applications.
Ill check back in 2weeks with one more update, but in conclusion. IF you like OS6 for 9700 this IS stable. If your skeptical about weather to upgrade to OS6 .. It's a matter of preference at the end of the day.

That would be my guess toO lol. I only have the 3rd party apps I really! want/need but I keep it to a minimal. I'm a crazy txt'er so I don't care TOO much for apps. If BBM/SMS starts to mess up (knock knock) then I wont hesitate to downgrade lol.

If you don't charge every night my guess is 2-3days without a charge and assuming you use for simple stuff, some texting hear, internet browsing there, etc. - again, i'm a big txt'er so lol ..
Yea, texting also saves on the pocketbook. lol

Once I start using the phone and open a few apps it slows down and I get that msg. And it seems I spoke to soon in my previous post because BBM & SMS are missing the curser now :aargh4:
considering downgrading to .593 (OS 5)
