What operating system does the blackberry 8530 have installed?

I'm trying to find out if it's compatible with another product which says it is compatible with several smart-phones and those "running symbian operating system." I don't know what Symbian is, if Blackberry has it and I just spent 20 minutes at the Blackberry site which gave zero information under operating system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BlackBerry Operating System is it's own OS. Symbian is what Nokia smart phone devices use as there Operating System. Hope that helps.
