Thread: BlackBerry OS 6 Hybrids Hit the Streets

Man oh man it sure sounds like alot of hating going on here. It seems like no one over here can be happy for Dcom for building a hybrid with new 6.0 files in them. I have installed this hybrid on my storm 2 9550 and it is faster than any hybrid out there. You know you don't go hating on someone putting out a hybrid to improve something, i don't see anyone hating on you tank for your hybrids! Just give props to the hybrid builders that put out great OS, for there Blackberries. I for one love my Blackberry and am Thankful for all the hybrid builder's out there taking time out of there day to build something for others. It all comes down to "If you can't say something nice about something than just keep the comment s to yourself" Sorry to vent but it just rubbed me wrong to hear people putting down the hybrid's that have 6.0 files in them.

Basically, you need to run the stock .743. Then you load the hybrid.exe and you need to navigate to the OS .743 folder that contains that java information. From there, you can shrink the OS and install the java files. Hope that helps.

Well here they are again! Driphter.com has released v6.1 of their OS6 hybrids. This time around the OS6 hybrids are carrying over 100 OS6 files. These OS6 hybrids should now be running faster and smoother then ever. Give them a try and let us know what you think or if you have any issues.

Update: This files you see list on the DCom page, are not all marked V6.1, however they are the 2nd version of OS6 to launch from Driphter.com

Hey bud, wasnt hating on the Hybrid at all -- i was simply pointing out that the 20 6.0 cods at the time were worthless and wouldnt affect the Hybrid --- I also listed the cod files --- I can tell you that the 20 6.0 cod files in the Hybrid at the time most likely didnt make the Hybrid any better. Thats all --

Ok, so I had the urge to try and downloaded what was available for the public. This should hold me till the new ones are available. My question now, while I wait for a good hybrid on .685, I wanna know if there have been any leaks on the new OS for Storm3. Or is that still just a myth?

Yeah no idea how this hit the front page today, 6.1 was there for VIP's over 10 days ago.

Honestly it does not matter how old it is. Most BlackberryOS readers do not frequent other sites. Such as DCom. If you already knew about the Hybrids, I commend you. This was put on the Front Page to spread the knowledge. If you read up, there are plenty of people who did not know. I am sorry you feel that way. We are looking for staff if you would like to join and help us out some.

I'm looking to install this bad boy on my 9550, but can anyone confirm how the UI is? will it remain as in 5.0? or are all the files from 6.0 just speed improvements?

I'm waiting on some positive feedback on how this one perform before I download/install it. Any & all feedbacks are welcome.

As of right now, the public hybrid files only have 20 OS6 files and it nothing has changed using that... I don't know what the new version has in store but I do know that there are over 100 files in the new one... Just gotta wait for them to be public in order to download... At least for me.. Are there any Dcom VIPS here that have downloaded the new version and can give us some insight on it?

This is titled #2.5, because it is partial news about round #2 and an advanced warning about round #3. Anyway, in my last announcement I told you guys that Round #2, of the Driphter OS 6 Hybrids, had started and were ready for download in Driphter's VIP section. Well, today that very Round #2, which are the v6.1 hybrids that contain over 100 OS6 files, has gone public with all there round #2 hybrids. Also be aware that DCom is planning on releases another wave of OS 6 Hybrids this weekend. Round #3 will be for VIP only, as was #2. After a week or so we will report the release of #3 to the public.

Please remember these are complex hybrids and only advanced users should be loading them. Be careful and report what your findings in the forums.
