Video: BlackBerry 6 Shown off on a Clamshell 9670!

Finally, we get to see BlackBerry 6 in action on an actual device, the 9670. Yesterday we had posted a video in the forums of the BlackBerry Slider that was running BB6 but really did not provide any information that we did not already know. Today thanks to CellGuru we have our very first live video of BB6 in action.

What I like the most is that at WES RIM showed us BB6 on what seemed to be a touch screen device, but CellGuru is showing us BB6 on the 9670 or the clam shell device running OS 6.0.0.20. The video also gives us another good look at the clam shell BlackBerry. I can't lie, at first I thought BB6 would be another epic fail for BlackBerry but after viewing this video, I am now excited to try out BB6 and really hope it lives up to its expectations. What do you guys think of BB6 now that you can see it on an actual device?

So much better than that video of the slider. We actually get to see something new in this one.

    A few things I noticed...

    1. it has Quincy installed on it. No surprise there...

    2. The version of BBM running on the 9670 has a new feature that displays data statistics for sent/received data for BBM.

    3. What is this?

Ok not to be the troll but what in that video did you see to be excited? It looked like the same old tired OS to me with a few more addons.. Things that we have all bought for apps are now included... think I will get my money back for those? LOL I just have to say I am highly disappointed RIM needed to completely turn around on this go around and instead what they did is step to the side and walk right back to where they were... Just WOW.. I really thought this would end up better than it looked in the WES vid, but nope.. same old same old RIM. Sad really. A company of that size and stability should really be trying one thing way outside their box, and instead they are letting new companies do that.

While I agree with you to an extent, I am excited a bit to see how BB6 will be. It does seem to look different and act differently. At the same time..This is what OS5.0 should have been.

    I agree completely.

I was also going to say something about how RIM might be playing it safe because other recent revamp attempts at former mobile giants have either failed (Palm) or are expected to fail (Microsoft). But then I realized that such a comparison is not fair since Palm and MS were already dead in the water.

So I'll say this instead. The ONLY selling point of BB is and will remain to be it's superior email and communication features, and that dominance will bring in new customers. But on it's own OS 6 will not do anything to bring new users to BB.

The only thing keeping me on a BB as my personal device is the 9700 form factor and the battery life.

While that phone is better than the previous block flip 8200 series; this thing is still just plain ugly...but I for one am excited to see OS 6 in action on my storm2-in person, I actually have begun to like that 9800 though, I hope tmobile gets it because I just might snatch it up-but only if it's touch screen also

Ok. I have yet to see this video! Maybe that's why its so quiet about this. I'm on my BB and can't find a mobile link and I have logged in on the computer and that dinosaur showed me nothing. I've checked multiple times since this was first posted. Can I get a mobile link?
