The title says it all. I have my tent and lounge chairs setup outside. Time to wait for a leak!

I'll cut some wood for the campfire later.
I'll bring the burgers and dogs! Can't wait,
I got the Cases of Beer! Where are we meeting?

All I can say is I'm impressed. Do you think their hand motions indicated anything about the touch motions you'd use to do certain actions? Like the diagonal swipe to open the menu? I'm very excited.

i expected little changes from 5.0, so yes, i am.
Maybe 5.0 was an OS to put all/most old devices on the same platform, and the trully next gen one was 6.0 ?
one thing i noticed, is that on the video, there is a considerable time between "action" and "reaction from the os", i hope thats only because it looks better that way with all the dancing
How can people say they are impressed with 6.0 yet when you only saw what RIM wanted you to see making you think its awesome. If you dissect their video, they have actually done very well with taking your full attention off of OS 6.0. The dancing in the background, the music...Those are both steps for you to not 100% pay attention to the actual OS. There is to much activity going on in the video for you to concentrate. Now after reading this I am sure you will go back and make sure you pay attention to the OS but someone who plays it for the first time, their eyes are going to wander into the background and off of the OS6.0 most of the time. I am in no way being disrespectful to the people who say they are impressed. I honestly hope RIM makes this the best because if they need this to stay in the game..If they don't...I think they are pretty much done with in the N.A world.
Oh ye of little Faith. If we don't have faith, then what do we have? Lol

We all have to have faith in something.
It really is make or break time for RIM and its die hard fans.
If OS 6 doesnt really change the way we use our devices we will all end up leaving and I bet the only place we go will be Android.
I say this because we all love installing OS's every week, we pull batteries for fun, we enjoy testing new apps and then deleting them because they are rubbish, in all, we are Blackberry, and RIM better remember that.
The consumer has spoken in regard to Palm and thats now in trouble. If RIM make 15 million devices in 12 months but only sell 200,000 to corporate users they are gonna lose out, Big Time!
The consumer is RIM's new best friend and as such should be treated with respect. Thats why OS 6 and the new devices need to be good.
Well thats my view anyway
So I guess I'm with the minority here and feel that the blackberry is starting to really fall behind, comparable to how Palm once lead the market and just died, I see the same thing for RIM if they don't start to innovate rather than recycle the same thing over and over with a few new buttons, and maybe a new feature here and there.
When was the last time BlackBerry made some headlines about a device outside of this site? The only thing they do remotely cool is come up with fancy nicknames, and honestly I'm not sure if they do that, or if the blogs do it.
I really don't have much faith in them with OS 6, I really don't see anything ground breaking in the video, so until more details emerge, I'll remain my pessimistic self.

I'm always eager to see any new OS developments that RIM rolls out. With that said, I use several apps religiously that I count on to run my life. I will not casually jump to 6.0 unless and until I know that the apps I use on 5.0 are compatible with 6.0.
Same topic (6.0) but different issue ... threaded sms. I DETEST threaded sms. I know, I know, some like it. If you like it fine. Please realize that sms was never designed to function as a messenger program and that is what BB Messenger, GTalk, AOL and all those other messenger programs are suppose to do. For reasons I've never understood, RIM followed what Apple did and forced threaded messaging down everyone's throat. I've hated threaded sms since the day I got my 9700. I've lived with it but not happily. With 6.0, I want RIM to give us the option TO TURN THREADED SMS OFF. Now please realize, I did not say "do away with it." If there are those out there who want threaded sms, fine. But give the rest of us the ability to go back to the traditional sms format and not be forced to live with threaded sms.
A choice is all I ask. Allow us to make a choice of turning it on or turning it off.
PLEASE RIM LISTEN!
I've said that the 9700 will be my last BlackBerry unless RIM corrects this problem. Yes Apple and others do threaded sms. But theirs works at least somewhat well. RIM's 5.0 threaded sms is horrible and has been from day 1 and in every 5.0 OS I've tested and I believe I've tested them all.
So let's get threaded sms cleaned up in 6.0 and keep BlackBerry the best in the business!
BBOS ... the adult's choice for BlackBerry chat!
I have to agree with Brett on this one. We have all been down the garden path and continue to support RIM and hang in there. Looking foward to 6.0 being all that the S2 should be. But I was not impressed with the video given the attempt to over sell it with action that was distracting.
Looking foward to 6.0 sooner than later in full working order.
So far OS6 is pushing The BlackEyedPeas and the new Media UI....I am interested in less prancing....and more in-depth real time use of the new OS. I am kind giddy about that pop up screen in the ad where you can choose SMS/EMAIL/PhoneCall/etc etc etc. Its nice like our APP Switcher only....more useful. It'd be great if everything is ridiculously customizable on this OS. And what would make it even MOREEEEE fantastic is if RIM emailed me the 6 OS before anyone else got it :hail:
But joking aside.....lets see this thing in action. Not with Fergie screaming BOOM BOOM BOOM and business women and men dancing around. MORE OS-6!!!!!!!
I would like to think that OS 6 would be a great but I'm llossing faith in RIM. I was at the VZ store today and got a chance to play with the new HTC Incedible. It was at that moment when I realized how behind RIM is to the competion. The Incredible was blazing fast. Everything about it was smooth as silk and the scrolling on it was soo much better. I thought RIM was great but I'm realizing they are so far out of the game. OS6 looks like a great step up but if you think about it, Once RIM realeases something that just barely brings them close to the competion, the competion at that point will be way ahead of that point. I might be bitter right now because I'm on my 8th Storm 2 replacement.
Friendship is a lot like peeing in your pants. Sure a lot of people can see it but it is only you, who can feel the true warmth.
Looks pretty sleek and sexy! I agree though, I'd like to see more Blackberry OS than dancing or people singing :P I can't wait to try it out though! I wonder if members of Blackberry Beta Zone will be able to get a try sometime?
It looks sweet just hope it runs smooth.
well i did saw it live in action and those that knows me know that i am not that easy to impress but all i will say is i give OS 6.0 the approval stamp, as for the above question i know there is a way to turn off threaded sms i cant remember right now how but if you go to the user guide you will find it...
BlackBerry by Choice!
