Well RIM might has started developing it but it might take 2 yrs to release... So... ? :P I suggest they release some moore OS5 vesions first.. Maybe more stable ones, less mem leaks.. A flash support upgrade would be nice also

I wouldn't doubt the next release is in the works. Microsoft is always developing a new OS. I wouldn't doubt that Windows 7's replacement's replacement is already in the planning stages

One of our most-solid BlackBerry connects has just dropped word that internally, RIM is starting to work on OS 6.0.
We can’t reveal details about the OS at this time, but in addition to molding what is OS 6.0, we also know that RIM is working on OS 5.2 which should debut sometime this year. Logical upgrade paths? Definitely. Let’s hope it won’t just be more evolutionary RIM madness, though. More as we get it…

Rumour. This is "obvious" news. Of course RIM is working on newer OS', and of course there are going to be better, faster features, etc.

Until someone says "here's a release, and here is what it will provide", I'll take it with a grain of salt.

What about the rumor, that 5.2 will be a lower mem version of OS 6 for older devices?

just because RIM releases it, add another 6-9 months before the carrier will release it

yes about that, why is it that carriers take so long to release updates... won't RIM just release all the updates to the public straight away. since RIM devices are all standards... the way apple does Iphone updates. I undrestand why on WinMo devices, device manufacturer has to realease their own ROM instead of straight from microsoft, cause they have different hardware. but RIM devices are pretty much the same all over the world, got the model number right and you are good to go...

Does the OS 6.0 Work on My Blackberry Bold 9000

Hello konijeti and welcome to . We have not received confirmation yet whether or not OS 6 will be able to run on devices with 256MB of flash memory. Speculation says that yes devices with 256MB of memory will get OS 6. The Bold 9000 only runs on 128MB memory. So unfortunately in this case I would have to say no your device will not be receiving OS 6. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
