Movie Paranormal Activity...Seriously? Scary?
I just watched this movie...I've heard that this movie is the scariest movie ever and that I wont be able to sleep with my lights off for so long...uh...seriously? This movie was good but never once was I scared. I'm sure that I've been into the whole paranormal scene since I was a little kid so I've seen most things. I was able to work with the Warrens on a few of their "cases" and seen a lot. But either way, this movie is NOT that scary. I really don't know why every one is all "ahh I cant sleep nowwwww". Anyone else seen it and find it to be not scary?

I'm surprised its any good considering it cost under 20k to make the whole thing. Reminds me of Blair Witch. Is it worth seeing in the theater? :buttkick:

I saw it. I'm a big horror movie buff. This wasn't scary at all.
I congratulate them for making a movie for under $10,000, having Steven Spielberg endorse it and then getting it distributed nationally and making a small fortune. Not bad for a couple of amateurs.

Movie started off pretty slow, and boring. I understand their logic of building its characters and to try to bring the audience closer into the movie, but I could of easily doze off at a couple scene chapters of the movie. The ending makes up for the lack of at some degree, but I think I was more amused of the reaction amongst the audience themselves.

It seems like a dumb movie, the reviews it's getting make it out to be big...I just don't see it.
I guess I would have to see it to make an educated judgment, so when it comes to TV I will. lol

I watched it at the theater....the whole concept behind this was viral-word-of-mouth...scarcity marketing....."Demand it in your area now" (Read: We are going to limit the theater release of this after viral marketing word of mouth has traveled that it's the scariest movie ever so more people will want to see it because it appears a scarce limited theater release and we will put it in more and more theaters and make more and more money) genius if you ask me.... the guys who made this movie and whoever they hired to market it in this fashion wrote the text book on viral scarce product marketing. The movie didn't really live up to the hype people say....it wasn't scary during the movie really at all ....a little suspenseful and some REALLY creepy parts.... but its more of a psychological flick where it lets your imagination depict the demon mostly so you can't really freak yourself out if you have a vivid or possibly disturbed imagination.....basically the movie gets in your head and after you've seen it, it kind of screws with your head but that doesn't last long.

I actually fell asleep watching it lol. I'm not a fan of the whole film it yourself movie, like Cloverfield...

Its one of those movies, like Blair Witch, that you have to allow yourself to be a part of it, and it helps to believe in that freaky stuff, I do so it actualy freaked me out a bit. Will it be as scary a second or third watch through, not at all. But it will be one of those movies that will watch with the kids as they grow up, just to see how freaked they get by it. Yes I like to freak out the kids, its healthy!

I didn't care at all for the movie. "Blair Witch Hunt" on the other hand was much better than this movie. Sometimes a big budget doesn't make a movie any good, and sometimes a low budget doesn't make a movie any good either. In my opinion, this movie didn't please me at all. I should have just fast forwarded to the end to see that... heh.

I guess its a matter of preference. I personally love horror, all of it! Good, bad, crap, low budget, whatever bring it all on I'll watch it, and most likely more than once! I guess that's what makes me a horror nerd!
