It looks like Radio Shack will become "The Shack" sometime this year. It's said that the corporate side of Radio Shack will not be renamed "The Shack". It doesn't sound like it'll be a lifetime name change. If it was, why wouldn't the corporate side change to "The Shack" as well? Tipsters on Engadget are saying "in-store signs will reflect the change this week, and storefront signage will begin to be reworked as "The Shack" sometime later this year." There's also rumors on the World Wide Web that "The Shack" will have 14 foot laptops to kick off the celebration that will take place in San Francisco as well as New York. It's said it will be "streaming the images from their webcams from one city to the other, live music in both locations, as well as television coverage of the event." Sounds a little strange to me, but maybe it'll create some stir around "The Shack". The name would sound like a catchy name if we were still in the 1970's. What do you think about the change?
