Just got this from my IT admin this morning.

DO NOT GO TO CARS.GOV!!!!!!! Yes, this is real and has been verified by Fox News.

To sign up for Cash for Clunkers - people are instructed to go to
cars.gov. DO NOT. it installs a worm that allows the government to
access and track your information when ever it wants for however long
it wants and is legal. SEE VIDEO

When you sign up for program on cars.gov - a privacy statement pops
up, when you click I AGREE, the following warning box pops up: READ
SLOWLY.

"This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged
on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer
system and is property of the U.S. Government. Any or all uses of
this system and all files on this system may be intercepted,
monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to
authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as
authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign."

basically, they can get all your private info on your computer.

I tweeted about this last night too. That's like signing your life away man. Always read the fine print when it comes to the government!

First of all Glenn Beck and his show is for "entertainment purposes only" he say's so himself. He does say in the video that it is the website that the dealers access to complete the trade-in process. If you are a consumer and you access the CARS program from a manufacturer website, such as GM, you do not connect to the goverment DOT website. There is no privacy pop-up window.

Thanks for the heads up Michael. That is some pretty scary stuff that the government has the ability to see right into your computer.

Wow that is crazy!

I'm sure shit like this has been going on for longer than we all want to know. If light has been shed on this, who knows what else they are/will be up to!

Niiice! Why am I not surprised. What a fuster cluck the cash for clunkers program has evolved into. The funny part is you cannot buy a real car like a Jeep or a Dodge Hemi with the money. What up with that?
