I too am late to the party but having had one, app memory is NOT less. It's actually twice that of the Storm. IMO the keys are to close together but the OS was a little better but still has its problems.

As stated by others, try it first. The screen resolution being the same as the Storm made things smaller but still looked nice.

I plan to get two of the Tours. One for me and one for my wife. Right now i have the 8330. Personally I want it because of the obvious reasons for an upgrade from my current device and because there is a chance i'll be going to "other" places while in the Nat Guard. And i'll be able to use it on other carriers while there. Other than Sprint, cause i dont think i'll be paying 3.99/min while there if on Sprint.

I don't see how anyone can say the Tour has less application memory than the Storm. ?????

I had the Storm for the first two + weeks of our 30 days. I even exchanged it for another Storm to see if I had a lemon. I was constantly having to either use Quickpull or do a battery pull to free up memory. I was LUCKY to keep it above 25MB and that was while running only the apps required (no FB, no weather app, no IM, nothing). Usually it dropped to below 4MB.

With the Tour, I'm running above 115MB of app memory available WHILE running Ubertwitter, Facebook, MSN, Checkbook, etc. Usually between 8 and 12 apps. I've never seen my available memory drop below 110MB.

I know the Storm has 1GB of internal memory but no applications are allocated to use that space. So, IMO it's useless when you have a large SD card installed. So am I missing something?

Internal memory is overrated. If you have 8gb memory card who cares about the internal memory. All it does anyway it store that can be allocated to the SD. And now with 16gb cards out there the whole memory issue is moot.
