Thread: New app icons on phone after Sevice books

Well I was re sending my service books and noticed that I had to new icons. Which were cast song I'd and VZW Tones. Well I downloaded them and gave them a shot. Well VZW Tones let's u buy ring tones and ringbacktones. Starting around $1.99. Kind of pricey to me. But it works great. I didn't download anything cause I'm a broke man.lol then I loaded vzw songid
. Its 1.1mb. So its pretty smooth app. Setting up was kind of off are had a bug are something. Will retry later. I didn't have a radio near me at the time but I will try in the morning. Ao has anyone else seen this pop up on your phone?

I got those too....after today. I resent my service books today and they appeared...must be part of BIS upgrade.

Yes, I just noticed them on my home screen. I didn't update my service books, so it must have done it automatically.
I really don't need them. You can't delete it, only hide them it seems.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to delete them as they are provider related, not OS.

I am not sure about that...if it's a vzw app, you might want to check with them.

well i would think that it uses data and with a bb you have unlimited data.....i tried to look it up but no answers found except others opinions

i never updated service books and they are on there already

Lucky me perhaps they haven't been pushed out to the west coast yet.

Ok, I found out that there is no charge to use the VZW song id....unless you actually purchase the song.

I figured out how to get rid of the icons if you want them gone. Options>Advanced>Servicebooks> then both are located at the top of the list, land on one then BB> delete and boom, gone adios amigos. Repeat for second icon and then your storm is no longer VZW branded without your permission. Yep I'm the guy who buys a new truck and promptly removes the dealers logo since I didn't get paid to advertise for them.
