i knew someone who bought a car and told the dealer to take the logo's off or take money off the car.......the dealer stuck with the logo's and gave her a discount....then we removed them ourselves.....oh yeah and thanks for the tip

Glad to be able to contribute something to the BBOS that's worthwhile considering all that you guys do for us. Granted I don't know if the icons might show up again after a reboot or batt pull, I can only guess it might but at least it's easy to enough to remove.

Unfortunately they will show up back once a batt pull done or service books are resent, your best bet is hide them so you don't have to see'em or move'em to a folder

VCast Song ID & VzwTones

Today I woke up and opened my phone, I clicked the blackberry button and scrolled down. Somehow there is now icons for VCast Song ID & VzwTones. They take you to the OTA download. Anyone else notice this?

In service books. They will come back after
Batt. Pull. Or resending service books.

Just tried the song id app and it actually works even through earphones.. haha... it doesn't cost money other than data usage. They get money from you buying the song after they id it.

Turned my phone on the other morning and saw the two apps. I did not even send out my service books. I'm out on the west coast too, so it seems to be nation wide.

I just received mine today as well Sean. I guess it finally made it to the West coast. You can remove them per Randy's suggestion in the OP (or first couple of posts).

Nice work by Storm 5150. Thanks for the update Jlevy73. I'm taking them off right now.

Just keep in mind that whenever you do a battery or resend service books these icons will return. But now that you know how to remove them it's easy enough.
