Thread: My obsession with Meterberry

OK, I've taken the plunge and deleted Meterberry!!

I found I was spending way too much time checking and resetting my memory and I was becoming obsessed with it as a lot of you can appreciate

Besides, (and I could be wrong) I think it was actually eating away at my battery and memory, which kind of defeats the purpose.

So, I downloaded Memory Eye, which I bought a long time ago and haven't used since Meterberry came out, set it to notify me at 8 mgs and that's it.

If I still get the compulsion to reset, I can always use the reset option in Quicklaunch.

It's been 10 minutes now and so far so go, but we'll see. I can always re download Meterberry if I fall of the wagon.

well i have to check the mem on my phone for beta testing apps purposes, but even when im running slow and refuse to restart my phone, i have quick pull to do a daily restart when im sleeping so i dont have to check the memory, but wait...wait.... i think i never sleep lol

Stay strong. I am not as strong as you are but I would be curious to know if Meterberry really does suck memory and battery. I've been suspicious of it doing so. Anyway good job memory checking is an unecessary OCD.

I just recently downloaded blackberry memory. It seems to be doing a good job, but once a day looks to restart my phone due to a new found module. Seems that it is not draining my memory, but when you have a restart once a day, the memory tends to stay high.

no, im using my NuGrl but i have been busy and such and havent really tinkered with my phone much. i just sent a couple sms, tweeted and it jumped back to 38.6

I was using Nu Blak but i was down to 25mb and that was after it recovered

At 44.7 now...but I don't think I pay...44.2 much attention to Meterberry. Its not like...up to 45 I'm compulsive about it...you know?

I used to obsess over Meterberry. I just moved the app into the downloads folder and don't look at it anymore. I only open it to reset my phone if it feels sluggish. Stay strong and fight the temptation.

I check my meterberry like every time I unlock my phone

Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our MeterBerry addiction - that our lives had become unmanageable

Step 2 - Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity (BBC hybrids are a good start)

Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of themes without OCD slots as we understood them (or, if we must have OCD slots, we found manageable replacements like UberTwitter and push weather)

Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless inventory of our 151 and 5.0 files

Step 5 - Admitted to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our MeterBerry wrongs

Step 6 - Were entirely ready to remove MeterBerry from our devices

Step 7 - Humbly asked theme makers to upgrade themes to work with 151

Step 8 - Made a list of all of the time we lost obsessing over MeterBerry, and became willing to make amends (get yo' ass a free QuickPull)

Step 9 - Made direct amends to others wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others or our BlackBerry

Step 10 - Continued to take measures to avoid checking memory and battery percentages and when we were wrong promptly admitted it

Step 11 - Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with our devices as we understood our devices, praying only for knowledge of RIM's will for us and the power to run apps without concern over megabyte usage

Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other MeterBerry addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs

46.6 right now...although I didn't realllllly care way too much....but I've really not done anything to cause it to drop from 49.1 when I did soft reset, and I really don't care, because my phone works just fine, but.....I wonder if I have a program running in the background, and ....hold on....sorry......ok.....Nope nothing running in the background...Hey...I could dump this program...doesn't realllly mean much to me or my phone....You know I bet if I pulled up a "browser" app...I could get back up to at least 48...and...and...
