Thread: Who has a Landline???

Just wondering who has a landline? And why. Personally I don't and never have. Never saw the point in paying for another phone, that stays at home, unless I had NO reception at home or something.

haha not me i have comcast so i have the home phone through them lol

Do people still use landlines? I haven't had one in years. Cell phones have gotten so common and with all the unlimited plans now, who needs one?

haha im on a family plan so i dont have unlimited have you seen the price for a unlimited family plus 4 line yikes!

The (Good) reasons I have seen for landlines are: If you have a daycare, If you have NO reception at home, if it's court-ordered:copdon't ask me, but I've heard that one before), Some satellite TV companies require it. I work for a cell carrier so I spend alot of time trying to get people to spend less on their land line and more on their cell phones. :bling:

Yup I have one for my biz, I get a lot of faxes and find them annoying to read off the computer.

I have heard the Fax Machine reason, too. I guess there is some way to send faxes over the interwebs called efax. But that would be annoying to read a million faxes on a computer.:AR15firing:

Yes, for dsl and sat tv. We live in a rural area without cable. Otherwise, my only option for internet would be another sat dish and it is twice the cost of dsl and not as fast here. My tel. co. only has about 1500 subscribers, couldn't believe when they offered dsl several years ago. We never use the landline, I have it forwarded on no answer and busy to my bb for free voice mail. :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

It sure is and I prefer to read a hard copy.

I have a land line because my kids dont need a cell phone, all they would do is text and fail school because they dont pay attention. The reason I know this is my 13 year old was suspended for 3 days for not putting her cell away while in class and continued to text. So now she is SOL. And the 17yr old is almost about to lose hers for the same reason.

We do have a landline for a couple of reasons, my verizon wireless service in the house is not always that good. Not sure why, it was bad when I had my Treo was much better with the XV6800 and is just okay with the storm. Other reason is for the FiOS package.
