Thread: Need some advice about my baby tortoise.

Well, I have 3 baby tortoises. My problem is, they're hardly to eat those pellets (tortoise nutricious food) oh, and their species is Red Eared Slider. Anyone?

You must feed them rich greens lettuce, cucumbers, celery, ordinary grass, etc.

Are you talking about water turtles?

Are you sure? Because I read somewhere, when they're still little, RES prefer to be carnivor, someone also suggest to try live prey, like guppy fish. But I think it's too big for them.

Well, RES can live in land or water. But mostly I think, they're like to be in land most of time. I also read it somewhere, they do not have saliva, so they will go into the water to help them to eat.

I've had RES before. They mostly live in water and sometimes go above to warm up a bit. I fed them guppies, goldfish, tadpoles, ect.

Oh really? You give them those when they're still baby? Thanks. I think I will try it out.

I was speaking of tortoises. They are different from turtles so they eat different.

Actually, the best thing for when they are babies I would try blood worms or meal worms. They are small enough for a baby to eat. Or you can cut up guppies or goldfish and feed that way as well.

OMG! One of the babies just don't move. Couple hours before, he swims happily! His legs stay still outside of sheel and not moving and his head keep inside. I feel baddddddd! I think he's already deadddd

Now only 2 RES left. And one of them already eat when I give bloodworms! Another one.. Idk. I saw him/her try to eat but in several attempts. I think it got eyes problem? Hmm. Now I'm thinking to get Yellow Bellied Slider! *trying to marinate the pellets into tuna water. Hope they'll eat it!*

I've bought yellow bellied slider yesterday! Seems like it get along with RES pretty well now I'm thinkng to buy Map turtle, but unfortunately it's super hard to find in Malaysia. Anyone know any good site to buy baby turtle?
