Should "ask patches" have its own networking site pages?

i'm talkin facebook, myspace and yes.....even *sigh* fwitter!

i got absolutely ZERO questions this week. would having these services help get the word out? i need feedback.

I actually think maybe twitter would help, but more over finding a site other than BA to run a front page ad for you. Nothing against BA just small yet. Know what I mean?

well the point is to help my buddy get his site going. at first the draw of people coming to BA was huge, i guess a bunch of people followed me? i'm still confused about that, lol. i'm gonna avoid twitter like the plague until i have absolutely no other choice.

i've even asked kevin to send in a question, lol!

Did you say facebook and myspace, double BOO! I heard that Facebook if it were a country would be the 5th largest in the world. However, I avoid it like the plague. IMHO you just need a better site to host it. No offense to BA and Ruk but you would getting a crapload of questions of it were hosted cough on cough BBOS cough. Damn I think I am getting a sore throat.

Patches, I could set you up with a section here, however, rukus and I are good friends and talk back n forth and try to help each other out with the sites, so I don't want him to think I'm 'stealing' you over here by doing that.

the question is:

do you think facebook, myspace and twitter are good platforms for advertising something like my "ask patches" article?

i said nothing about which site should i post it on, or can i post it over here too...

so what do you guys thing? will facebook myspace and twitter improve the activity?

i've only gotten a few questions from users of this site, or any site other than BA...and idk if it is for lack of knowledge of the feature, or what. is it too much work to just email? could you facebook or tweet your questions easier? i'm trying to reach out to the blackberry using community to see what they want. i know that it was met with open arms the first two or three weeks. everyone loves, it, no negative feedback about how i organize it, etc. i just need more involvement from the community and i'm hoping that maybe these social networking sites will help...any thoughts on the topic?

Patches the whole facebook twitter deal might make it easier for some. Then there is no fear of backlash on a forum. I personally would like to see that feature over here since people would be safe from backlash here as well.

But to answer your question yeah probably twitter would be the best (although your answer would be limited by space)

I think a Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter combo would work well. I like the BBOS Twitter updates...but with Twitter you are limited to 140 characters. Just my .02.

well it isn't a forum, it's an article, so mostly there won't be any flaming done unless its by me for doing or saying something stupid, but i make it light hearted and fun.

and i posted this on BA just a second ago.

well i don't want twitter to become where the questions and answers are posted. more like somewhere you could post a link to the article, spread the word, talk about suggestions, etc. but i think FB or myspace would be more user friendly for that sort of stuff. more interactive, less restrictions.

Patches..How about having your own website? That way both BA and I can point directly to your site?

i'd rather have my own island. idk if i wanna invest the kind of time to make my own website. and i'm uber-anal about stuff like that. it'd never be perfect, i'd always tinker with it, etc...i'd end up breaking stuff.

btw, i've already broken BBM on a VZW BES test device so don't think i won't break the interwebz also. and those tubes are not cheap to replace
