BBM Music Comes Out of Beta, Now Available in US, Canada, & Australia
RIM gave us a big surprise today and officially released their much anticipated BBM Music service! Everyone has been patiently waiting on this to come out of beta. Beta testers can assure you that this service is legit. You can browse millions of songs and instantly add them to your collection. I really enjoyed testing out this service and am excited for its release today.
BBMM is deigned to share music among your friends. Here’s how it works:
- Download BBM Music from BlackBerry App World, and select 50 songs that will automatically be shared with your BBM Music friends
- The songs that your friends select (as well as the songs you selected) become part of your BBM Music library, thereby significantly increasing the number of songs you can listen to. For example: if you have 25 BBM Music friends, and each has 50 songs, your library could increase to 1,300 songs!
- You can create music playlists comprised of any number of songs from your BBM Music library
- Easily discover music that your BBM Music friends are listening to, and comment on your friends’ songs and playlists
- Songs can be cached, so you can listen to music even when out of wireless coverage, such as when you are on the subway oron a flight
- Each month, you can swap out up to half of the 50 songs you personally selected to explore new music
So what does all this goodness cost. For starters you can use the BBM Music app for free with a 30 day
(60 days for a limited time) free trial, but for the full listening experience you need to pay $4.99/month otherwise you only get 30 second previews of the songs. Really that's not bad for all the songs you could potentially get.
Here is how to download it and some official information from the inside
