Thread: The longest time you've not reset your Storm...

I'm curious as to the length of period the rest of you can go without resetting your Storm... Ever since I've gotten the Storm, I would have to do either battery pulls or soft resets through programs such as Quickpull or MeterBerrry... Majority of the time I have to do the reset is because my data stops working completely. I can't use update my Viigo, I can't browse the web, I don't get BB Messenger msgs, etc... basically, my data transmission is dead but I can use the phone and receive calls.

I'm not very OCD regarding the amount of free memory available on the phone as long as it works, I'm fine. I don't like the idea of setting automatic resets as I don't live and die on a set schedule and gawd forbid the one time I need to make an emergency phone call, my phone is resetting... O.o Can't have that now as we all know even with the newer firmware (hybrid or otherwise), the boot up time is still horribly slow.

I think the longest I've gone without a reset is about a full week or so... Maybe I need new hardware... but being the absolute first order for the Storm in the Vzw database, I'd like to keep the one I have... hahaha that and I don't think most of the programs I bought are PIN transferrable... =T

I reset my phone every night before plugging it in and turning it off.

I did a memory test to see how low my memory could drop once. Went about 6 days without rebooting and then BBC released v6 so I was forced to stop and install.

Dang that BBC :lmao: getting in the way of your scientific test.

I have never done a reset on my phone ever. Memory is something pay way too much attention to. So unless my phone becomes sluggish which it never has a reset is really pointless IMHO.

lol, you got me there. But besides the new installs I don't reset my phone on a regular basis.

Damn I wish I had it good like you guys... I wonder if it's one of my apps that is causing the issue... Maybe if I go for a week or so with no 3rd party apps installed... hahaha but I need my crackberry fix!! :Eyecrazy:

Sounds like you might need to wipe Ukyo. Have you ever wiped before?

I reset all the time....cause I either change themes and it prompts me or apps....but if I don't do any of that...then I don't reset until my memory goes below 25mb and that can be quite a while!!!

Its been four days running v6 and my phone is running strong at 20MB free with no lag. I'm a very happy stormer.

Lol, well as of late a few times, lol. But I stayed on .114v3.5 forever. It worked awesome for me. Then the next was 132v5.1, then .148v6. I usually try t stick with one for awhile. It takes me reading the findings posts like a hundred times before I get brave enough to try another, lol.

I wish I had patience like yours. I usually go for it and if I don't like the OS, I downgrade.

OK, I've now gone 24 hours without resetting. It was a little touch and go for a while, the memory went down to 18 MG, but I resisted temptation.
I'm working the 12 steps and today is another day. Looks good.

The next step is to not look at your memory at all.....you can do it!
