Consumer Reports Ranks Wireless Carriers
Now who is to say this didn't have something to do with AT&T dropping their lawsuit against Verizon? Consumer reports has released a report ranking wireless carriers. You can get the issue of Consumer Reports now, but thanks to a couple Droidie and the New York Times' Bits, we can give you some of the details. The report which spanned more than 50,000 Consumer Reports readers in 26 cities, confirms a couple things we all already knew, and something we didn't.
As if you already didn't know, Verizon came in ranking number one in the findings. But what is surprising is T-Mobile ranking number two, ahead of Sprint. It seems a lot of people write off T-Mobile for any number of reasons but this report shows T-Mobile is right up there. That's got to be disheartening for Sprint.
AT&T came in last place in almost all surveyed markets. Certainly Verizon has to be all smiles with this report. What is interesting however is the reason why AT&T is ranked so poorly. It's not the lack of 3G coverage as the recent Verizon commercials would have you believe. That may be one of the reasons. But the biggest reason for their poor ranking is voice connectivity. One can hope that this is another wake up call for AT&T, as we all know their network has been needing some help.
