Thread: Why BlackberryOS.com stinks...

So as you can see, I'm a new member and recently started posting here. Well, recently, I posted a couple of replies to the "Get cash for your Berry" thread a few days ago and heres what happened. My posts not only were deleted despite having no offensive language or any other reason for deletion (admitted by a mod himself - they were actually very helpful and insightful and were quoted and used several times after), but when I went back to view the thread, they were listed under another member's name making it look like these were another member's thoughts/posts.

It does not appear to be the other member's fault, so I emailed BlackberryOS to see what was up. Its only fair that I get credit for my posts and that they belong to me for obvious reasons (the whole point of a forum). Well the message I get back is saying that the moderator consolidated some posts but could not give me an honest or fair answer. Ultimately, I was told "tough luck" and that it was a server error and that there was "nothing that can be done". No sincere apology, no remorse, no help - rather I was spoken to in such a disrespectful way, that you would have thought that I did something wrong!!

I know this may not be a big of a deal to alot of you, but I take alot of pride in my postings. I've already helped several members on here and have been, what I consider, a pretty positive contributor to this site and to be told by a moderator "tough luck", I think is pretty disgraceful from a new member's perspective.

I've dealt with other well-known Blackberry sites and never had this sort of a problem. In fact, any problem I ever had was rectified and I was treated as if I was appreciated. I cannot say the same for BlackberryOS.com and moderator, JNEPSA.

So, BlackberryOS, I just want you to know that because of your "server errors" where "nothing could be done" and because of the inconsiderate, unprofessional mod JNEPSA, you have already lost a valuable member less than 2 weeks after joining. Thanks for showing me how much you care about your members!

To all you other great members out there, I hope to see you on the other side (you know where I mean)!

First and foremost my apologies for any telecommunications to you about the forum. Though we do try and make it one of the most pleasurable sites on the net we unfortunately are only human and therefore capable of making errors. Though I understand your feelings I hope that you can find a way to look past this and truly enjoy the site. We find that all of our members have a lot to contribute and look forward to all of the information provided. I find it unfortunate that the posts that you had made were not credited to you as a member. However this is something that we can look into. Please understand, in the world of forums, things happen. There is always the human element, and people aren't perfect. Sometimes, folks are just having a bad day. Perhaps when you were having your problem with your post, Jnepsa was having a bad day. I assure you that this isolated incident doesn't speak for as a whole, as we strive to be MORE helpful than the average BB site, and discourage anything that could be construed as flaming. In the end, everyone is human; forum mods included. But ordinarily, the overall attitude on this site is in line with bbcrackman's.

The issue has been resolved. I was treated professionally and kindly by bbcrackman who saved me as a member. I know some of you may not really care, but to me I was extremely upset with how another moderator talked to me. THe glitch with the server, although disappointing, I can understand and forgive, but the rudeness and disrespect, I could not. I made several posts, after they were IMMEDIATELY moved (and I swear the one disappeared, only to reappear after I made a second post). I just wanted my voice heard so that other members were not treated this way.

Hi MYWIRELESS31. I don't want to be a preacher but please calm down. We are happy that thanks to bbcrackman we saved a member. Trust us we here at bbos may as a family disagree on some issues but what the hell families are for? We always help each other. I have no right to speak or advise any one. But as I have got so much of help and aupport from everybody that I could not stay quite. Welcome to the family and HAPPY HELPiNG.

Mr. Wireless, I am glad your issue got resolved and you are still here on . I can understand your frustration and disappointment in the treatment you described. I only wanted to +1 to BBC's and Dave's comments about the human element. I have been on this site since April and have never had anything remotely like what you had happen. I have communicated (only through posts, never by pm or e-mail) with Jnespa several times and have always found him helpful and respectful. Hopefully you will come to see the same from him and all the other helpful mods and support team members here. I can only imagine he was having a bad day or even maybe just not paying attention to how his response could be construed. We all know how an innocent comment can be miscontrued when read and not heard.

I am glad your issue was taken care of and you are hanging around a bit longer here at . IMHO it will be a better experience and worth it to you.

all i can say is wow and something else but it would get deleted. haha

JNepsa did nothing wrong. I receive a copy of all PM's to all members up to and including VIP's.
There wasn't any language in the PM that I would consider out of line for the professional standard we like to be known for here at

No I do not get copies of all PM from any members. I only get a copy of a PM that a Moderator sends to a member concerning a post/thread alteration.

I've been here a LONG TIME and NEVER heard of anyone being treated harsh or unfair and ANYTIME a mistake has been made (we are all human), this site has resolved the issue swiftly and with everybody leaving with a smiles.

I in no way am trying to add fuel to the fire, it's just this became my favorite site cause you don't have to worry about bashing, whining, or complaining...only dumb question here is one that goes un-asked, and I would hate to see that compromised by someone who hasn't even been around. JUST MY OPINION!!
