I have to 100% agree with you on this post. I myself consider a true BlackBerry advocate , ambassador, plain and simple a " BlackBerry Boss ". During a recent trip to T Mobile to purchase a sim card for my dev alpha , I ended up spending 2 hrs showcasing BB10's OS on the dev alpha. From the camera features to BBM , it was an experience that will last a life time.
I had people so fired up the manager wanted me to come back and put on a demo. Now this is what is needed, we need to get out and showcase this awesome OS and show what it can do. If you've had a chance to meet BlackBerry Hank , then you will truly know my passion and drive for BlackBerry.
I plan on setting up here in San Antonio soon and start promoting BB10 around the city, that is my quest. BlackBerry is far from dead , we are truly alive with a passion and a commitment to show people just how damn good BlackBerry 10 will be!
Great idea and I just happen to be an advocate. Give me a dev alpha![]()

This is a great idea considering the great feedback I always get when I show my Dev Alpha those who haven't seen it yet.
I like the idea & sentiment. The reality is: "Why buy the cow, when you already get the milk for free"? You've been there promoting & advocating BB for free today, & likely will be there doing the same tomorrow. At least for those of us left - that rings true.
That said - I still think the idea is worthwhile. The incentive provided to developers over the past year from Alec Saunders & team has been amazing. Free PlayBooks, although a hit to RIM's already slim pocketbook drove large AppWorld increases & is likely responsible for most of the interest in BB10 to date.
Providing some kind of incentive to Advocates as you define them would still be beneficial for RIM. How that would look on paper is the better question though.
We can all be BlackBerry advocates. When you are in your carriers store and you see someone looking at phones tell how great your BlackBerry is. I do (9900). People in future shop, best buy and walmart look at tablets and phones. I was recently in my local best buy and a woman was trying to ask the sale person about a PlayBook. He would not answer her questions on it. Instead he told her she should buy an android tablet. When I heard enough from the sale guy I walk up to them and said to her I own a PlayBook and you will love it, if this guy will let you buy one. She said thank you to me and turned to the sales guy and said see I would like a PlayBook now or i will get it elsewhere. The look on the sales guys face was priceless.
I totaly agree,i also showed of my dev alpha at a cell c carrier store in Cape Town and the responce was awsome, they even end up taking fotos of the display on the device!!

@meistronomic, Yep, I've had the same thing happen to me. One salesman from Verizon even told me to make sure I come back in and show him when the next update hits the Dev Alpha.
if only there's a store or kiosk here selling on BB smartphones exclusively here in Cebu, Philippines, I would like to be part of it and be a salesman. .
Blackberry all the way
