good... and what about Skype?
@ROJ Virgina is a whole different beast. WPMobile is competing against RIM for 3rd place, and at this point, it may seem like Skype may never come. Of course there is always other alternatives that might make the leap like ooVoo. Also don't forget that video chat is coming to BB10, making it compatible with both playbook and BB10, the next logical step is the Desktop, and unlike BBM it may be made available as a cross platform alternative
If instagram. Is on the bb10 more people would support it. But other then that iphone is wining the race
what about os7?![]()
I would love to have Instagram on BB10! It's a YES!
Yeah it would be amazing to have instagram on BB10 some of my friends switched to Samsung or Iphone just so they could get instagram and one of them said that he missed typing on his blackberry and BBM so he might just switch back over to BlackBerry from his Iphone
The only thing I can think of at this point is that somewhere along the way someone from RIM pissed off Instagram, Skype, Netflix and many of the major players.
I mean Windows Phone 7 has all these apps. BlackBerry should too!
Well if BlackBerry is thinking about discontinuing the PlayBook i see no need for them to get instagram on it, their main priority right now is to get the BB10 out to the public on schedule, and even then only a few companies have allowed BlackBerry to announce any arrangements that they have
According to the timeline for development which indicates a 10-inch PlayBook in the works, and since the 4G/LTE PlayBook just came out, also Thorsten's interview (this site) with The Economist indicated continued support and production of PlayBooks. They will be "upgradeable to BB10" according to Thorsten, as well. This indicates that PB's will stay.
Comments section in the venturebeat article summarises the credibility of the article. so no need to discuss it further.
Reg Skype:
Skype is moving towards carrier billing. and i would assume carriers would want it on as many platforms as possible. so i dont see any reason why skype wouldnt make its way to BB10. if not at lauch, it should be there shortly after launch. i dont have the link right now to prove that skype is going carrier billing. But will share it when i have the time to find it.
also, skype is an individual cost center for MSFT. and cost centers should worry about maximising their revenue and not be a scapegoat to MSFT's mobile strategy. unless it some how fully integrated into WP8 and not available on any other platform. But as its not exclusive WP8 anyway, i think its in the best of interest of Skype (as a cost center) to be available on all platforms.
