I must say, RIM really did a great job on the new android player. Now, how's about they just let us install android apps directly on our playbooks...?
does this mean that sideloader is now disabled until official apps become available? Good job on the rest, it all works fluffy \o/
you can still side load android apps (i just tried side loading Paypal with DDPB Installer and it work flawlessly)
You can Get them Here
Sideloading will never be disabled. RIM has told us that sideloading apps is here to stay.
Huzzah!!! Can't remember where I read it but there were rumours because of the lack of advertising ability with android apps when converted so therefore sideloading would be disabled and official appworld only would be possible with 2.1 update?
All irrelevant now cos it still works......woop woop chicken soup!
Anyone get a problem with caldav on webmail account login?
**after 2.1 upgrade
Help!!?? Can someone please give me the real run down on sideloading?? I have been sitting on this download every since it dropped because I have worked way to long and put in to much time getting these ap just to do an update and loose them. I have some really good apps so can someone simply tell me if I install the update do I loose them and can you still sideload thereafter???
I'm 100 percent sure. Sideloading stays, RIM has just figured out a way to encrypt apps so users can't rip them off the device. See here... BlackBerryOS.com - Alec Saunders Official Statement Regarding Sideloading On BlackBerry PlayBook And BlackBerry 10
With the new 2.1.0.1032 update, my 16gig Playbook boots up twice as fast from more than 3 minutes to 1min. 45 sec., same each time.
