I was reading the same sort of information on another site in which it states that this is not the first time in the last couple of years that RIM has trimmed its workforce. According to the article RIM cut 2,000 jobs last summer. This is way big business runs. Many times you have to make tough decisions for the good of the company.

Yes, but also remember how many companies RIM acquired over the past two years. Think about that because those recent additions may become casualties..

Rumor has it the number of cut jobs could be as high as 6000.
