Here We Go Again With The BBM On Android Rumors

If you get queasy easily please do not look at the above picture. It's true, the sight of what looks like a BBM app running on what's probably an Android device makes me nauseous and I'm sure many of you feel the same way. Unfortunately today, this pic has been leaked by Techno Buffalo. According to their source, BBM will be making its way to iOS and Android by the end of the year as a part of Mobile Fusion.

Details are obviously scarce and since we haven't had a rumor like this pop up in some time, it's good to not panic and take all of this with multiple giant, enormous grains of salt.

I think its a good move...but as suggested by Chris Umi, make it a tiered service.

Got a BB, you get all the features.
Got an iOS or Droid, you get half the features. Want more? pay for more features but never full BBM. Want full BBM on ur iOS or Droid, go get a BB
Hey Apple, you want BBM, show us the money.
Hey Droid, BBM? more money more money more money.

There are so many copycat bbm...leverage that thurst for cold cash from competitive vendors and their users.

If they can have this ready with BB10, its a winning combo. Now we have the platform that people will come back to.

The image looks like a photoshop to me. The area around the top around where it says "resolution 240x320-pixel" and "Running BBM for Android Ver: 0.8.87 Beta" is substantially more pixelated than the rest of the image when I zoom in.

Right, it does look fishy, and it def could have been photoshop. I think it's hilarious that when these leaks come out the picture is always fuzzy as hell. Never a clear shot. lol

Actually this is very feasible considering they mentioned Mobile Fusion. I would not be surprised if we see this soon in the enterprise environment. Secure chat among colleague's on multiple devices.

I would hope though that if we do see BBM on these platforms as part of Mobile Fusion, that it comes in a very limited way. Perhaps restrict features and only allow basic messaging.

BBM in an enterprise environment has all features available, and there are other chat programs that are proprietary to other mail environments that can be deployed by BES Admin to BlackBerry devices. It will be interesting to see this come to Android devices.
