    Deadpod

    Back to business!

Perhaps it seems that I've played more than my usual share of Garcia recently - but this newly released gem demands to be heard.. This is (probably) a multi-track recording with the legendary Merle Saunders at the Keystone in Berkeley CA, July 10, 1973.
This is a truly wonderful recording, and if you're a fan of Jerry/Merle then you'll really enjoy this week's and next week's show (when I play the rest of this show)...
Not only does this week's set feature the very first 'The Harder They Come' performance, every song is really a treat, in my opinion....

    Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders

    Hi-Heel Sneakers
    Finders Keepers
The Harder They Come **first version by Garcia
It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry
    It's Too Late
    My Funny Valentine
    Mystery Train

You can listen to this week's Deadpod here:

Enjoy the show, and thanks as always for your support..............

Wow Lou talk about expanding the listening horizons...I haven't heard some of those songs since my 30's. Its not often I break out The Floyd but a nice change of pace. Well enough rambling I have important things to do as in checking out that Garcia/Saunders show you posted. By eye it looks like a smoker. Can't wait to check it out by ear

Breiti, Lou is the best. If your a fan go through these pages in here. Lou has put up some incredible shows...and the sound...whoa. Grab the headphones. There are a lot of quality, knowledge gaining, informative threads on this site but don't think you will find a more mind expanding thread than this one. Oh, one more thing my suggestion is to start saving money now cause your gonna go through some memory cards saving these shows.
