First off, I would like to address the ever growing community of spammers Spamming is NOT ALLOWED! We will not tolerate it in this forum. If you post a spam message it will immediately be deleted, your membership in our forum will be deleted and all posts associated with your account will be deleted. You only have one chance here, so don't do it! This includes Private Messages to our members. One chance that's it! Additionally, no link abuse, traffic leaching, member leaching, advertising, adult content or nudity will be tolerated! You will be notified prior to enforcement.
To help manage the potential for spammers, no member will be allowed to post links or pictures until they have at least 15 posts.
With that out of the way let's move on.
Post in the Right Forum
We've done our best to layout the forum categories so they are logical and make sense. When you are creating a new thread, do your best to get it in the right category. We want these forums to be value added and educational. The Blackberry / Rim General Discussion Thread is a good place to post if you have a question but are not quite sure where to put it. These forums are not as strictly moderated, unlike the device specific forums where we maintain their quality.
We also have the Off Topic forum. You can talk about anything you want in here. Just keep it respectful, productive, clean and legal.
Make Meaningful Posts
While BlackBerryOS is here to help solve problems and staying on top of news and rumors, all posts made within the site should be value added and on topic to the thread (even in the free for all). Posting for the sake of increasing you post count is not allowed, Site Officials, Moderators and Members of the Help Team reserve the right to delete any meaningless post. You will receive notification when this occurs and will asked to make meaningful post. If it happens a second time you will be given and Official Infraction and this will be placed on your record.
Use a Descriptive Title
Please do not create threads that state HELP ME? or NOW WHAT? help us to help you. When you create your thread / post, think of it as if someone else is reading it. Make your subject line is related to the content of your post. Having a subject line of 'help' or 'now what', will not really help others later when they do a search for a particular issue. So, try to be a little more creative. Please do not PM forum Administrators, Site Officials, Moderators or Members of the HelpTeam with support questions, please post these in the appropriate forums so other members may take advantage of their provided support.
Do not flame, insult or post personal attacks against other users. Be courteous, not rude. Any instances or reports of harassment of members will be treated seriously. BlackBerryOS will not tolerate this kind of behavior, this could result in disciplinary action up to banning you from the website. You will be notified prior to enforcement.
Only one username or account is allowed per BlackBerryOS member. If you have forgotten your log in information, do not create a new account, please contact us. Users found with multiple accounts will be addressed. You will be notified prior to enforcement.
User names and Avatars
Member User Names and Avatars must be appropriate for all ages. If the moderation team does not feel your User Name or Avatar is appropriate you will be asked to change it. If not done in a timely manner it will be changed for you and one that BlackBerryOSassigns. User name changes can be made by our Administrator or Site Officials. User name changes are only granted under special circumstances, and if it requires change, it has to be absolutely necessary. If you feel that this applies to you; contact one of our Site Officials or the Administrator
Signatures are allowed, however, keep them neat and clean. Keep font size normal, no excessive coloring, no upper case letters (that's yelling if you didn't know). We want you to express yourself, however in a reasonable manner.
Forum Moderation Team
BlackBerryOS Administrators and Site Officials trust that any action that a moderator does will follow the above guidelines, so please respect them, as they are volunteering their time to keep this site fun for all to use. If you feel that you are being treated unfairly, or have a question about a moderator action, you may contact them via PM, or send a PM to one of our Site Officials or Admins. Administrators and Site Officials have final say in any forum moderation decisions. Please let the Moderators do their job. Members, who decide to moderate other members, insult or belittle other member actions, will not be tolerated.
Warnings/Ban General Policy
BlackBerryOS does not want to issue warnings or bans to members. It is our goal to be a friendly helpful environment for all BlackBerry users no matter what their skill level is. Members whom do not follow the above rules may suffer consequences for their actions. We have decided that we will give three chances, after the third offence you will be banned from BlackBerryOS. Depending on the severity of the offense, Moderators, Site Officials and Administrators reserve the right to show leniency towards an infraction.
The Adminstrators, Site Officials and Moderators reserve the right to move, edit, close any thread or post. In addition we also reserve the right to ban members or revoke any and all privileges to those that break these rules, with or without warning or explination. BlackBerryOSreserves the right to modify these Rules and Guidelines at anytime for any reason.
