Thread: Now that we have desktop manager for mac

Since we have desktop manager for mac will we see shrink os and jlcmder or other files for mac too?

probably once it is official we will see such things. Rumor was that it wasnt going to be able to load leaked OS and such so who knows if we will need such things.

Also, BGR is reporting this may send all your info back to RIM, so use cautiously.

If anyone wants to do a little cross platform compiling there is a prog for Linux called Barry that does pretty much all the normal DM and JLCmdr functions.

The inability to install a leaked OS is a major killer for me.

Did I miss something? Has Mac DM been released/leaked?

try to install some apps and it seems behave very nice ....one thing I noticed that's when fisnish install it not reboot your phone like windows DM ...very nice at first ....

Has anybody tried to install a leaked OS yet?

I've been using the DM for Mac all day, works great so far. Don't see anyway to install an OS with it though.

yea I'd like to know how to install an os with a mac... seeing as my computer with vista 64 will not let me do anything with any os on any phone.

To load an OS RIM will have to release it as a .dmg file which is the Windows equivalent for exe. SO what we will probably see as OS's are made official there will be two versions, a dmg and an exe.

Do you think that if a leaked OS was released as a .dmg then would we be able to load it on our phone even though it's not an official release?

Definitely. The question though is whether leaked OS's will be released as a .dmg file.

I sure do hope that we get some leaked OS as .dmg

I just installed DM and I like what I see. I just backed-up my device and sync my music with my iTunes playlist. Looking good so far.

Couldn't someone just make a diskmount file when they package it? Like how people make installers for hybrids, just make it a .dmg file? there are programs out there to be able to make diskmounts. Just a thought.

That's a good question and sure worth a shot. I have a feeling that someone will figure out a workaround.

BG's OMGZ! No big brother is watching is unfounded, DM for Windows sends the exact same information to RIM as it does on Mac.

As for loading OS/Hybrids..give it time, anything that can be built..can be tore down, it's all just 01100011011011110110010001100101

Is it possible to back-up 3rd party apps with this version of DM?

Yeah I did that this afternoon. Loading my whole entire iTunes collection was nice as well.
